C.H. Robinson is seeking a Global Forwarding Agent to join our team in Aalsmeer, Netherlands.

As a Global Forwarding Agent, you will be responsible for managing and operating the shipment life-cycle for your assigned consolidations in the Gateway department. As a key contact and expert, you will ensure that all requests and requirements are met and answered accurately and timely. This position involves the preparation, distribution, and maintenance of all documents for various geographical regions. You will be accountable for executing and overseeing tasks for each shipment, including daily communication, reporting, and email management. Exceptional customer service and operational excellence are central to your role.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

Maintain Operational Excellence:

• Understand the processes, documentation, and terminology involved in international shipping from time of purchase order issuance through the delivery of the cargo

• Apply industry knowledge and critical thinking to adapt processes and to create solutions in response to challenges both internally and externally

• Coordinate tasks on the shipments to meet all customer SOP requirements: booking approvals, processing pre-alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring proper invoicing, etc.

Facilitate Relationships:

• Collaborate with our international team members and third-party agents to ensure efficiency, excellent customer service and creative problem resolution

• Build great relationships with customers, responding timely and following up on issue resolution

• Provide reporting and documentation support to internal and external customers

• Participate in customer business reviews

• Contribute to seamless forwarding operations across various regions, gaining exposure to unique challenges and client needs

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• 1–3 years of experience in Global Forwarding and air freight operations (import and/or export).

• Fluency in English and Dutch, both written and verbal.

• Excellent customer service and follow‑up skills, used effectively with customers and internal network partners.

• Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, and adaptability skills, especially in changing operational environments.

• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment, including participation in a rotating weekend schedule with colleagues.

Preferred:

• Formal knowledge or completed coursework in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Business, or related fields.

• Flexibility and eagerness to learn in a dynamic freight‑forwarding environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, PowerPoint).
