Data AI Engineer Intern (Global Payment) - 2027 Start

Build the data warehouse and implement data intelligence applications for the global payment & financial business. Deliver data modeling, pipeline development, data governance optimization and data service construction around core business scenarios, and drive the engineering rollout of AI applications built on business data to support business analysis, operational efficiency improvement and intelligent transformation.
Global Payment serves multiple core businesses including Tik Tok, Tik Tok Shop, Ads, Cap Cut and local life services, covering over 50 countries and regions. Its business scope spans payments, digital wallets, financial services, insurance and more. Characterized by globalization, high concurrency, low-latency requirements, strict compliance rules and complex transaction pipelines, the business imposes high standards for data infrastructure, real-time analytics and intelligent capabilities.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship. Our internship program offers students hands-on experience, industry exposure, and opportunities to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges while building a strong foundation for personal and professional growth.

• Job Responsibilities
• Lead the construction of the global payment data warehouse and data model design, and develop offline and real-time data pipelines.
• Oversee global payment data governance, metric system development and data service delivery, ensuring data accuracy, stability and consistency.
• Develop AI applications on enterprise data aligned with business scenarios, including intelligent Q&A, data analysis assistants, knowledge retrieval and automated insight generation.
• Process structured and unstructured data, and build foundational data infrastructure and knowledge bases for AI applications.
• Participate in architecture design for LLM-based applications, and drive the development and iterative optimization of Agents, Skills and performance evaluation frameworks.
• Promote the productization and platformization of data capabilities to fuel the intelligent upgrade of business operations.

Requirements:

• Minimum Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or above

• Proficient in SQL, familiar with data warehouse modeling theories and practices, with end-to-end data pipeline development experience.

• Hands-on experience with at least one of the tech stacks including Hive, Spark, Flink, Kafka, Click House, Star Rocks and Doris.

• Strong business acumen, communication skills and cross-team collaboration capabilities.

• Preferred Qualifications

• Familiar with the development lifecycle of LLM applications; knowledgeable about RAG, vector search, knowledge bases, prompting techniques and Agents.

• Prior experience in internet finance, payments, transaction systems, risk control, clearing & settlement, business analytics or AI application deployment is preferred.

• Candidates with academic background or internship experience in data development or data warehousing are preferred.
