Job Description:

Solutions Architects (SA) at VMware by Broadcom provide technical leadership for customers’ strategic projects and initiatives.

The SA is responsible for discovering customer needs, uncovering latent issues, and partnering with or leading the customer toward solutions. You will propose resolutions using VMware by Broadcom’s core solution, "VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF)," and prescribe "Future State Architectures" for the client's long-term success.You will demonstrate leadership by working closely with our customers, Sales, Professional Services, Global Support, Product Managers, and VMware by Broadcom’s executive leadership team. This is a high-impact, highly visible role responsible for ensuring the adoption of VCF and Add-on solutions within assigned accounts.
To ensure customers fully understand the solutions, activities will include executing workshops, conducting client interviews, collaborating with SI partners, conducting industry research, and soliciting guidance from colleagues.

Position Title Principal Solution Architect / Senior Solution Architect for Financial Service Industry
(Job level will be determined based on the skill set at the time of hiring)

Department / Team Details You will belong to a team of Solutions Architects serving financial institutions in Japan (and partially within the Asia region).

Responsibilities:

• Join sales teams in the pre-sales process to uncover customer challenges and lead customers through meetings to determine the interest and feasibility of solving issues leveraging VCF and Add-on solutions.
• Understand the customer's business objectives, IT initiatives, and IT environment to present VMware by Broadcom’s value proposition, create proposals, and deliver presentations.
• Proactively catch up on IT technologies (including competitors) and actively learn VMware technologies via provided enablement and internal training offerings.
• Actively learn technical and business knowledge regarding industry direction and trends.
• Participate in demos and Proof of Concepts (PoC) for customers and partners, leading the customer alongside specialist teams.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of experience in pre-sales or system development in technical fields.
• Experience working in the Financial Industry or serving Financial Industry customers.
• Ability to communicate smoothly with customers and internal members, with a positive attitude toward change and the ability to drive it forward.
• Ability to present effectively to audiences and adjust to the level of role and understanding.
• Broad knowledge regarding:
• Cloud Computing
• Zero-Trust / Network Security
• Sec Ops
• IT Infrastructure and Data Center Design
• IT Processes / IT Governance
• IT Roles & Responsibilities / IT Business Drivers
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
• Fluent in Japanese.
• Ability to read and write in English.

Preferred Skills:

• Professional experience building solutions with VMware technologies and cloud-based technologies.
• Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
• Experience in solution design, implementation, and consultation.
• Advanced certifications (e.g., VCP, VCAP, RHCA, ITIL, CISSP).
• Fluent in English.

Location Tokyo Tamachi Office / Partial remote work available. Domestic and international travel required.
Travel primarily consists of client site visits and accompanying customers to Headquarters.
