Position summary

The Business Unit Coordinator CHAT – Innovative Medicines is an enabler for the Business Unit, going beyond traditional administrative support. The role supports commercial excellence with the BU team and encourages innovative thinking. This role partners closely with the BU Head, BU Team and cross-functional network to optimize operations, facilitate innovation, and ensure the team is equipped for future challenges.

Key Responsibilities

Advanced Administrative & Project Management:

  • Manage meeting logistics for the Business Unit.
  • Prepare high-impact presentations, reports, and communications for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Oversee budget management and tracking, contract management, and vendor coordination with a focus on optimizing value.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration:

  • Act as a connector between internal teams, external partners, and customers to accelerate decision-making and project delivery.
  • Build strong relationships across the organization, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate excellent judgment insensitive situations.

Strategic & Commercial Operations Support:

  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance team efficiency.
  • Support commercial operations by preparing data-driven insights and assisting with business case development.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects, ensuring timely execution and alignment with business priorities.

Innovation & Change Enablement:

  • Track and report on innovation initiatives, supporting project teams in overcoming barriers and scaling successful pilots.
  • Champion new ways of working, including digital transformation, agile practices, and continuous improvement.

Future Skills & Continuous Learning:

  • Stay current with digital tools (internal systems and capabilities), and best practices in commercial operations.
  • Support team upskilling and development initiatives, encouraging growth mindset and adaptability.

This role reports directly to the Business Unit Director, IM CHAT and is working very closely across the Marketing and Commercial organization of the BU.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a commercial, project management, or executive support role; pharma/biotech experience a plus.
  • Proven ability to leverage digital tools (e.g., SAP, Share Point, automation platforms) to drive efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and thrive in a fast1paced, dynamic environment.
  • Passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and enabling others to succeed

On-site Protocol

BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:

Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility.
