What you’ll do
Join our AI-centric internship cohort and build the future of financial software! As an Engineering Intern, you'll collaborate with a mentor and team to develop impactful products, services, and infrastructure that accelerate the adoption of AI-first tools and workflows across Brex. You'll leverage data and creativity to solve real-world business challenges and contribute to our long-term technical vision. This is your chance to push the boundaries of financial technology and directly shape Brex's growth.
Where you’ll work
- This role will be based in our San Francisco office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of 3 days per week in the office
- Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!
Requirements

Availability to participate in the program from June to September, 2026

Strong knowledge of CS fundamentals
-
Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and eagerness to learn from others
-
Are excited about working in a high-paced environment with other high quality engineers
-
Familiarity with software engineering development cycles
-
Experience working with backend programming languages (i.e. Java, Kotlin, Python)
-
Experience working with SQL or NoSQL databases
-
Ability to hold yourself and the team to high standards
Bonus points

Experience with AI tooling

Experience collaborating with experts in product, design, and operations

Familiarity with functional programming languages

Proactive mindset, leading with curiosity first

Experience with corporate financial systems or concepts

Experience with cloud computing systems & services
Compensation:
The expected salary range for this role is $55.00 per hour. However, the starting base pay will depend on a number of factors including the candidate’s location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position offered, equity and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package.
