Your contribution to something big:

As an Embedded Software Developer in the field of automotive functional safety, you will contribute to the development of safety-critical embedded software for advanced steering angle sensor systems. Your work directly supports vehicle stability systems and helps ensure safe driving experiences for millions of people.

You will:

  • Translate customer and system requirements into high-quality software requirements in alignment with the V-Model.
  • Design robust software architectures and detailed software modules using tools such as Enterprise Architect and PlantUML.
  • Develop and maintain MISRA-compliant embedded C code for automotive microcontrollers.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 standards throughout the software lifecycle.
  • Perform static code analysis (e.g., Astrée) to guarantee reliability and safety.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests using frameworks such as CANTATA.
  • Maintain requirements traceability using DOORS and Jira.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with hardware, systems and test engineers to ensure seamless integration and product excellence.

What distinguishes you:

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable field.

Experience

  • Experience in embedded software development, ideally within the automotive or safety-critical domain.
  • Practical experience working according to the V-Model, especially in requirements engineering and software architecture (left side activities).

Know-how

  • Strong proficiency in embedded C programming and microcontroller-based systems.
  • Good understanding of automotive functional safety principles (ISO 26262).
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and version control systems such as Git.
  • Ideally, knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture and communication protocols such as CAN.
  • Experience with debugging and testing tools (e.g., Vector CANoe) is a plus.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., Python) for automation is beneficial.

Languages

  • Good command of English (written and spoken). German is an advantage.

  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving, quality-driven mindset. Experienced in agile development environments.

  • Team-oriented and collaborative with strong communication skills. Proactive mindset and eagerness to take ownership.
