Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze customer, service, and business requirements and translate them into electronic design proposals and technical solutions.
  • Design, modify, and maintain electronic circuits and schematics using industry-standard CAD tools.
  • Support product sustainment activities, including component obsolescence management, redesigns, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Bring up and validate prototype hardware, proof-of-concept designs, and engineering mockups.
  • Investigate field failures and perform root cause analysis to identify corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute validation and verification test plans and document test results.
  • Perform electrical characterization, debugging, and troubleshooting using laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Service teams to develop and implement robust solutions.
  • Support PCB design reviews, layout optimization, and manufacturing readiness activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable EMC, EMI, ESD, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation including schematics, test reports, design specifications, and engineering change documentation.
  • Support product lifecycle management activities from design modifications through production implementation.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB design.
  • Experience with electronic circuit simulation and validation tools.
  • Harness and cable assembly design experience.
  • Knowledge of component selection and qualification processes.
  • Ability to interpret schematics, PCB layouts, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Familiarity with engineering change management and product lifecycle management systems.

Desired Competencies

  • Customer-focused mindset with an emphasis on product reliability and serviceability.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Collaborative approach to working with global and cross-functional teams.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on quality and operational excellence.

Your profile

  • Experience with high-speed interfaces such as MIPI, MDI, HDMI, USB, LVDS, CAN, LIN, or Ethernet.
  • Experience with control interfaces including I2C, SPI, UART, SPMI, and related communication protocols.
  • Knowledge of power electronics including linear regulators, DC-DC converters, and switched-mode power supplies (SMPS).
  • Understanding of electrical noise, signal integrity, and coupling mechanisms including conducted, radiated, and near-field effects.
  • Knowledge of grounding, shielding, EMI, EMC, and ESD design practices.
  • Experience with PCB layout design, review, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supporting products through their complete lifecycle, including sustainment and obsolescence management.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing, failure analysis, and corrective action processes.
  • Experience working in automotive, power tools, consumer electronics, or industrial electronics environments.
