Data Analyst

The Opportunity:

We a seeking a mission-focused Technical Data Analyst to support critical United States Navy operations. This is not a traditional analyst role where you simply receive clean datasets. You will own the last mile of data delivery—acting as part Data Engineer and part Data Visualization Expert.

You will be responsible for building efficient ETL pipelines, querying complex naval data warehouses, and transforming raw metrics into actionable intelligence via high-impact dashboards such as Tableau, Power BI, or Qlik. You will translate technical data into strategic insights for Commanders and key decision-makers.

What You'll Work On:

• Design and maintain SQL-based ETL processes to ingest, clean, and transform large datasets from disparate Navy legacy systems.

• Write complex SQL queries and stored procedures to extract data from Oracle or SQL server databases.

• Utilize scripting languages, such as Python or R to automate data workflows and perform advanced data wrangling.

• Ensure data integrity and quality assurance (QA) prior to visualization.

• Develop interactive, dynamic dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, or Qlikto track readiness, logistics, maintenance, or operational metrics.

• Create executive-level visualizations that simplify complex datasets for non-technical leadership.

• Optimize dashboard performance for low-bandwidth environments where necessary.

• Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost reduction or process improvement.

• Collaborate with Navy stakeholders to define KPIs and requirements for reporting tools.

• Document data dictionaries, schemas, and logic to maintain knowledge continuity.

You Have:

• 3 years of experience with data analysis in a professional work environment

• Experience in Tableau or Power BI

• Experience with Python, including Pandas or Num Py, or R for data manipulation

• Knowledge of SQL, including joins, window functions, or stored procedures

• Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or Mathematics

Nice If You Have:

• Knowledge of Navy enterprise systems, such as DECKPLATE, OIMA, NDE, or ERP systems

• Top Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,600.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
