Data Scientist

On our team, you’ll use your analytical skills and data science knowledge to create real-world impact. You’ll work closely with your clients to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environments to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll develop algorithms and systems and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn sets of disparate data points into objective answers to help clients make informed decisions. Ultimately, you’ll provide a deep understanding of the data, what it all means, and how it can be used.

You Have:

• 4 years of experience in a professional work environment
• Experience with data exploration, cleansing, analysis, visualization, or mining to develop predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualizations
• Experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages, such as Python, R, or SQL, to analyze structured and unstructured data
• Knowledge of machine learning, artificial intelligence, and natural language processing tools and techniques
• Secret clearance
• HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

• Experience supporting DoW or federal agencies, including analytic support
• Experience with tools such as Map Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, or Spark, visualization packages such as Plotly or Seaborn, or mathematical concepts such as linear algebra or probability
• Experience supervising teams or leading projects
• Knowledge of DoW analytic tools, such as Advana and Maven Smart Systems
• Knowledge of Agile development practices
• Ability to communicate data science techniques effectively to leadership
• TS/SCI clearance
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a similar field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
