Nuclear Surety and Policy Specialist:

As a Nuclear Surety and Policy Specialist, you will work alongside thought leaders in nuclear weapon surety, security, and policy on projects for multinational and joint coordination efforts. You will use your expertise to support nuclear deterrence and defense function requirements and provide analytical support for policy and plans, assisting efforts focused on nuclear surety mechanisms that lead to enhanced readiness across commands.
Work with us in enhancing collaboration on nuclear defense activities by fostering strong partnerships between NATO, CCMD Staff, Service Components, and other DoD and non-DoD organizations. You will develop and maintain relationships with host and partner nation counterparts to support nuclear reporting, information sharing, and preparedness planning, including joint exercises. Additionally, you will work to improve coordination with DoD combat support agencies and interagency partners, while aligning nuclear surety capabilities to address various threats in theater alongside regional and international counterparts.
As a key contributor to the CBRN defense and nuclear policy team, you will provide expert advice and guidance on nuclear, CBRN defense, and arms control matters, leveraging your experience advising senior military officials. You will facilitate the creation and implementation of nuclear surety and policy initiatives, analyze deterrence and defense issues to enhance force posture and readiness, and contribute to nuclear operations planning. Your role will involve strengthening strategic deterrence posture through multinational, multi-command, and joint coordination, while developing frameworks to onboard new partners and stakeholders into existing policies and programs.
Additionally, you will support certification and training processes related to nuclear surety, provide insights to inform senior-level decision-making, and collaborate with diverse teams to achieve shared objectives. You will also develop and review technical reports, security plans, and policy documents, ensuring compliance with federal, state, local, and NATO regulations, while staying informed on advancements in nuclear technology, policy, and security. Finally, you will provide support to the CBRN defense team as needed.

You Have:

10+ years of experience in nuclear surety, security, or policy
-
Experience as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Air Force
-
Knowledge of nuclear weapon systems, national security policy, and international relations
-
Ability to lead and manage varying teams in high-pressure environments
-
TS/SCI clearance
-
Bachelor’s degree

Experience as a Commissioned Officer with the United States Air Force at the Colonel level or equivalent preferred

Experience in interagency collaboration such as with the Department of Defense or intelligence community

Experience developing and implementing strategic education programs

Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
