BNY is seeking a senior leader based in Singapore to own and scale the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) capability for Asia-Pacific. The Senior Vice President will define and execute the regional IBOR strategy and operating model—spanning data architecture, controls, integrations, and client delivery—to enable intraday, multi-asset, front-to-back investment decisioning across Asia’s diverse markets and time zones. Partnering closely with Middle Office, Technology, Product, Risk & Compliance, and Client Coverage, this leader will ensure IBOR is accurate, resilient, timely, and trusted—advancing BNY’s strategic pillars to Be More for our Clients, Run our Company Better, and Power our Culture.
Scope and Remit (Asia)

Coverage: Singapore and broader APAC including Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, Korea, China, ASEAN markets.

Market nuances: Multi-market calendars, trading windows, T settlement conventions, corporate action practices, FX flows, and regional holidays.

Client segments: Regional asset managers, sovereign wealth funds, insurers, pensions, asset owners, and global managers operating in APAC.

Operating cadence: Intraday servicing aligned to APAC trading schedules with managed handoffs to EMEA/US; 24x5 resiliency with follow-the-sun support.
Key Responsibilities Strategy and Regional Ownership:

Own the Asia IBOR vision, roadmap, and operating model aligned to client outcomes and regional market needs.

Define intraday IBOR service levels (timeliness, completeness, accuracy) across APAC asset classes—equities, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives, alternatives, FX, and cash.

Establish regional governance forums, KPIs, and executive reporting; harmonize with global IBOR strategy.
Data, Architecture, and Technology
-
Set and steward the regional IBOR data model (positions, cash, valuations, corporate actions, trades, collateral, financing) with clear lineage and reference/master data governance.

Oversee integrations with front-office systems (OMS), accounting platforms, custody, pricing, and market data—optimizing STP and latency for APAC trading windows.

Partner with Technology to deliver scalable, cloud-forward IBOR services with robust observability, performance engineering, and failover tailored to regional volumes and peaks.

Evaluate build vs. buy for regional needs; lead RFPs and vendor management where applicable, ensuring alignment to global standards.
Operations and Control Environment:

Design and manage regional control frameworks (reconciliations, breaks management, corporate actions, data quality checks, exception workflows) suited to APAC market practices.

Ensure robust intraday cash forecasting, positions, and exposure views during Asia trading hours; drive continuous improvement in timeliness and exception reduction.

Implement incident/defect triage, root-cause remediation, and preventive controls; maintain strong audit readiness.
Client Delivery and Commercialization:

Shape the Asia IBOR client proposition: SLAs tailored to APAC, onboarding playbooks, customization boundaries, and change management.

Partner with Product and Coverage to refine pricing/packaging, go-to-market, and regional adoption; support pre-sales, solutioning, and complex multi-market deals.

Lead client governance: service reviews, performance reporting, and proactive improvements; represent IBOR in regional client forums.
Risk, Compliance, and Regulatory Alignment

Coordinate with Risk & Compliance to align regional IBOR operations with applicable regulatory expectations across APAC (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia).

Maintain audit-ready documentation: process maps, control inventories, evidence, and remediation tracking for regional regulators and internal audits.
Cross-Functional Leadership

Align stakeholders across Middle Office, Custody, Data & Analytics, Technology, Risk & Compliance, Product, and Finance to deliver outcomes in Asia.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

15 years in asset servicing, investment operations, or front-to-back data platforms; deep expertise in IBOR or adjacent domains (ABOR/front-office data).

7 years in team management
-
Proven leadership of complex, multi-year transformation or platform builds at scale; regional APAC experience strongly preferred.

Strong command of investment data structures, instrument coverage, corporate actions, reconciliations, and intraday processing across APAC markets.
-
Experience with OMS, accounting platforms, market data providers, and cloud/data engineering stacks; track record building robust control environments and passing audits.
-
Exceptional stakeholder management, executive communication, and change leadership skills; comfortable operating across cultures and languages.
-
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA/MS) or relevant certifications a plus. Multilingual proficiency (e.g., Mandarin, Japanese, Korean) beneficial.
Technical and Domain Skills:

IBOR data model design, event processing, and intraday state management across diverse market conventions.

Integration patterns: APIs, streaming, messaging, microservices; data lineage and metadata management.

Reconciliations and exception management tooling; workflow orchestration; corporate action processing for APAC markets.

Exposure to cloud platforms, data lakes, real-time analytics, observability, and performance engineering.

Familiarity with securities reference data, pricing, risk/exposure views, FX flows, and collateral/financing prevalent in APAC.
