We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Investment Strategist to join BNY Investments Japan. This role is located in Tokyo, Japan.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Act as the primary investment contact for complex institutional clients, prospects, and consultants, providing updates on investment philosophy, process, and product performance.
- Develop models, theses, and insights to influence strategy and portfolio construction; actively participate in investment strategy meetings with portfolio managers.
- Drive new product development and generate investment ideas and solutions aimed at improving investment outcomes and supporting business growth.
- Create and oversee written investment commentary, RFP responses, questionnaires, and marketing materials for client communications.
- Contribute to client retention and business development by delivering superior investment performance and client service; provide guidance to less experienced strategists.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Strong technical knowledge of investment concepts, including asset allocation, portfolio construction, risk budgeting, derivatives, and risk management.
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and communicate complex investment ideas effectively to clients and colleagues.
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred, with 5–7 years of relevant experience and at least 5 years in investment roles.
- Familiarity with local regulatory requirements and ability to manage jurisdictional matters; applicable licences or certifications as required.
- Bi-lingual capabilities and cultural awareness to build trust and manage relationships in Japan.
