About the Role
A Principal Agile Coach helps teams across lines of business adopt and improve Agile methods and practices to solve complex business improvement problems. A principal agile coach operates at an enterprise level and help solve systematic problems in a structured manner. A coach helps people rethink and change the way they go about development. Agile coaches act as servant leaders to the team, to support and evangelize best practices for agile and ways of working.
Key Responsibilities
- Possess experience and expertise acquired by supporting a business line with expertise in cross functional team leadership
- Propose and facilitate implementation of long-term strategy roadmap across the entire line of business before the pilot project
- Serve in a mentoring or coaching role only and is not part of the scrum team by providing objective guidance, without personal or political considerations
- Design, propose and facilitate implementation of long-term strategy across the entire organization before the pilot project
- Periodically check up on teams, help them stay on track with agile techniques, and fine tune behavior as needed
- Coach and mentor lines of business on adopting agile best practices, technical practices, Product management practices and bring in the behaviour and mindset change to improve business agility
- Facilitate and conduct trainings and workshops at lines of business and enterprise level
- Help lines of business measure success through metrics and measures
- Help Teams improve their current practices by observing team and program events and provide recommendations and best practices
- Attend Iteration Planning, backlog refinement meetings, system demos, and solution demos
- Contribute to the achievement of related area objectives
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business or technical-related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred
- 10-12 years of experience in providing consulting advice to senior IT and business management required
- Strong knowledge of Lean-Agile principles, practices, frameworks, and methods
- Understands company organizational model, company structure, and Agile journey history
- Effective facilitation and teaching methods
- Coaching and mentoring approaches, including the distinction between the two
- Ability to drive decisions and resolve conflicts across multiple parties
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience successfully running agile projects of varying size and complexity
