We’re seeking a future team member for the role of US Treasury Trading Associate to join our Global Markets team. This role is located in New York.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Support senior traders in day-to-day trading activities across the US Treasury curve

  • Act as a backup to traders, assisting with execution logistics and trade lifecycle management

  • Monitor market activity, order flow, and risk metrics; escalate anomalies and operational risks promptly.

  • Resolve trade issues including settlements, fails, confirmations, and reporting discrepancies

  • Leverage internal analytics tools and AI-driven workflows to help identify trade breaks, reconciliation discrepancies, and settlement risks across trading and operational systems

  • Coordinate with operations, middle office, clearing, and counterparties to ensure accurate and timely settlement

  • Assist with financing activities, including repo and funding-related tasks

  • Monitor trade flows and identify operational or market-related risks

  • Assist in the development and use of AI-enabled reporting, monitoring, and market analysis tools to improve desk efficiency, risk visibility, and decision support for traders

  • Over time, develop the skills necessary to price risk, make markets, and manage positions under supervision

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Associate-level experience in fixed income trading, trading support, operations, or a related financial role and/or college coursework or a completed undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field

  • Strong interest in financial markets, particularly US Treasuries and fixed income products

  • Solid understanding (or desire to learn) trade lifecycle, settlement processes, and financing mechanics

  • High attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive trading environment

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams

  • Proficiency in Excel; familiarity with trading systems and market data platforms is a plus, as is familiarity with basic programming for data analysis and reconciliation

    BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $57,500 and $117,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

    This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
