We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Software Developer to join our Technology team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or Lake Mary, FL

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and performant backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs.

• Develop and consume APIs as part of a distributed microservices environment, with a focus on reliability, maintainability, and testability.

• Design, Build and test AI agents using in-house AI platform and Python to automate complex control-related tasks

• Design, develop and test LLM based AI Agents with RAG/Autogen and prompt engineering

• Implement structured logging using SLF4J and Log4j, and integrate with monitoring tools and logging aggregators (e.g., Splunk, ELK).

• Collaborate with DevOps engineers to define and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, ensuring smooth and secure build, test, and deployment workflows.

• Apply test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) practices using Cucumber, JUnit, and Mockito.

• Ensure code quality and security by leveraging tools such as Sonar Qube and Veracode, with a focus on maintainable and compliant code.

• Analyze and optimize application performance, database interactions, and service integrations.

• Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, analysts, and QA engineers to translate financial domain requirements into working software solutions.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required

• 5+ years of experience in software development required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

• Strong expertise and in depth knowledge of Java, Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Boot), design patterns, Microservices architecture, and Restful APIs

• Strong understanding of AI agent architecture, solid grounding and prompt engineering

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles, best practice for coding and Agile development

• Proficient in automating CI/CD pipelines on large container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)

• Batch Monitoring & Job scheduling tools like Airflow, Autosys & Control M.

• Proficient in scripting and SQL, Stored Procedures and transaction management

Design and development of backend features and components. Provides application software development services or technical support in more complex situations. May also be responsible for requirements gathering and BRD/SRD preparation. Has thorough knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle. Conducts reviews of the test Plan and test Data. May allocate/ coordinate work within a team/project. The job holder leads the technical design, development and documentation of cross-functional, multi-platform application systems. S/he analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems. S/he also ensures that expected application performance levels are achieved by coordinating, coding, testing, implementation and documentation. S/he writes new complex systems (a grouping of programs involving multiple levels of table dimension and internal sorts that accomplishes a particular new function), designs and codes programs and creates test transactions. Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy r requirements and solutions. Maintain software functionality and currency (technical debt and gain). Actively participate in code reviews. Integrate software components into a fully functional software system. Apply security and privacy principles.

Execute full lifecycle software development. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Participate in deployment process following all change controls. Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Provide recommendations for continuous improvement.

Active learning engagement. Complete all required mandatory training / policy awareness curricula on time. Use learning tools such as Pluralsight to complete both recommended and aspirational targets set in personal development plans.

Demonstrate team work. Leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge.

Compiles documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system. Acts as mentor to junior level engineers Prior experience with using a specific application development toolkit and knowledge of a backend development language required (i.e. C#, Java) S/he must have knowledge about the functions and features of modern and traditional structured methods for developing applications.
