This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

As a functional manager of a small, passionate, and accomplished team of varying experience levels, you will lead a team of structural analysis engineers responsible for work associated with the certification of New Glenn's First Stage (GS1). You will have technical and schedule accountability for detailed strength analysis, fracture analysis, test development, and test and flight correlation analysis to aid in certification of New Glenn for our key government customers.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Technical oversight of a team analysis engineers

• Coordinating and presenting on the technical aspects of certification with external customer subject matter experts

• Manage workflow and balance priorities across the team in order to support schedule objectives

• Apply engineering knowledge and judgement to help resolve or mitigate potential requirement gaps

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution

• 8+ years of relevant engineering experience

• Strong understanding of structural analysis principles

• Previous engineering leadership in an aerospace environment with space hardware, aircraft or similar, mission critical high value components

• Strong personnel, project management and interpersonal skills

• Ability to operate, make decisions, lead, and make forward progress in ambiguous environments

• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited institution

• Experience managing direct reports and projects or programs

• Experience with certification of launch vehicle hardware
