Jobs
Bloomberg News is one of the biggest financial and business news organizations in the world. We lead the way in breaking news and providing analysis on financial markets, from daily coverage through to in-depth features. We are known for our quality, accuracy and ability to deliver news investors can use. It’s what keeps us inventing and re-inventing, all the time.
We are seeking an editor to help guide coverage of money and power in the Middle East, a region that has become a hub for global finance.
The successful candidate will drive and elevate major scoops on a high-performing team. They will also help develop enterprise stories on sovereign wealth funds, IPOs, deals and real estate, ensuring copy is clear, compelling and reflects regional nuance and global relevance.
The role spans major deals, economic reinvention, technology and AI, and the personalities and institutions shaping the Middle East’s ties with Wall Street and investors worldwide.
You will work with experienced journalists across the Gulf and Africa, as well as with colleagues around the world, to break news quickly, polish copy under pressure and deliver standout features for Bloomberg’s global audience.
We'll trust you to:
- Edit and refine stories on M&A, IPOs, finance and real estate
- Demonstrate strong news judgment and an instinct for context and significance
- Collaborate with reporters and editors across regions to elevate coverage
- Write crisp headlines and sharp leads that cut through noise
- Ensure copy meets Bloomberg style and accuracy standards under deadline pressure
- Prioritize and pivot quickly based on the news cycle
You'll need to have:
- Outstanding editing and headline writing skills to produce engaging, jargon free stories
- Versatility across finance, AI, real estate, deals and the region’s broader diversification themes
- A collaborative approach, working seamlessly with colleagues in multiple locations
- At least five years of financial journalism or editing experience, and a record of growth and impact
Life at Bloomberg is many things, but it’s never dull. We’re a truly global business with a truly diverse workforce. We offer competitive compensation, comprehensive healthcare coverage, and programs to support you and your family through different life stages, from parental leave to generous retirement savings plans.
