The Team:

The Global Marketing & Digital Wealth organization at Black Rock is a forward-looking, globally connected team at the center of the firm’s most high-impact priorities. ​​​The Japan Marketing team at Black Rock sets the strategic direction and implements marketing plans in partnership with Global Product Solutions and Client Business. It is the responsibility of this team to raise brand awareness and drive preference of our investment capabilities, including analyzing the return on investment to inform and evolve future activities.​

Role and Impact:

​​Black Rock is seeking a motivated individual to join the Japan Marketing team, based in Tokyo, to drive integrated marketing campaigns and initiatives to support the strategic priorities for both the retail and institutional business in Japan. This role reports to the Head of Japan Marketing.

​This individual will work closely with the local and regional marketing teams, corporate communications team, local client business and product teams to set the marketing direction and implement initiatives to support the strategic priorities of the business. This individual is also expected to consistently review marketing campaign performance to measure commercial impact and help refine and improve future marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and drive marketing plans that drive our Wealth and Institutional business growth to deliver upon Black Rock’s financial objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with regional marketing teams (from digital, events, content and i Shares etc.) and partner with investment teams, product strategists, client business teams, APAC Corporate Communications and Compliance to implement marketing solutions.

  • Design, drive and implement marketing campaigns that align with the Japan wealth business priorities. You will lead in crafting the campaign’s content messaging and strategy, campaign materials, and activation strategies to successfully deliver product materials to the intended target audience.

  • Lead and review the existing suite of fund marketing materials. This includes developing new marketing materials for fund launches and representing marketing in new business projects.

  • Serve as the brand ambassador to drive marketing strategy and brand awareness, raising familiarity and preference with our clients.

  • Plan for and implement campaigns within allocated marketing budget, and partner with third-party agencies or vendors where necessary.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with Marketing colleagues and client business teams across geographies and channels to ensure our content reaches the relevant people across all client segments.

  • Ensure all marketing initiatives are compliant and implemented within Black Rock guidelines, controls and processes; ensuring risks are identified and resolved.

  • Driven, organized and self-motivated individual. You are upbeat, meticulous, committed to excellence and have superb time management and prioritization skills.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to move multiple projects forward simultaneously amidst ambiguity, effectively integrating input while maintaining project schedules.

  • Collaborate across the firm locally, regionally, and globally to connect the dots and identify areas for leverage and synergies beyond day-to-day job scope.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to partner with multiple and determined stakeholders and build positive relationships across the firm.

Qualifications:

  • At least 8 years of experience with proven experience working in financial services, preferably in asset management, banking or wealth management.

  • Excellent communication skills in both Japanese and English – both written and verbal is required. You are able to write, edit, and proofread copy.
