About this role

Role Description We are seeking an individual to head Derivative ETF Product Structuring and Strategy within in the i Shares Structuring and Solutions team. This role will have end-to-end responsibility for defining, building and scaling the i Shares derivatives-based ETF business in Europe.

Working across commercial and product teams within the Global Product Solutions organisation and across partner businesses, the role is to lead the Outcome ETFs product segment - spanning product strategy, structuring, platform development and commercialisation - and lead on the structuring of new products on the i Shares Market leading swap ETFs.

This is a category-build role requiring deep derivatives expertise, strong commercial judgement, and the ability to operate across multiple stakeholders to deliver new growth for i Shares.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Strategy & Roadmap:

  • Define and lead the European Outcomes and Derivative ETF platform strategy, including product roadmap launch sequencing, and prioritisation
  • Identify and assess new outcome-based strategies, structures, and underlyings to drive category growth and differentiation

Product Structuring & Design

  • Lead ETF product design and structuring, leveraging derivatives and synthetic techniques to optimise client outcomes, tradability, and scalability within a UCITS ETF wrapper
  • Partner closely with partner teams across the firm to ensure robust, compliant, and commercially viable structures

Commercialisation & Client Engagement

  • Lead commercialisation efforts, including thought leadership, market-relevant insights, and direct client engagement
  • Work in close partnership with Sales to position outcome ETFs effectively across client segments and channels
  • Support Product strategists across asset classes on client engagements on Swap ETFs

Platform & Capability Development

  • Define and prioritise technology and platform build requirements to support outcome ETF issuance, lifecycle management, and distribution
  • Contribute to the evolution of the broader i Shares operating model to support outcome-based products

Stakeholder Leadership

  • Build strong, trusted relationships across internal teams and external partners to drive complex initiatives to successful delivery
  • Act as a senior point of expertise on outcome ETFs for internal stakeholders and clients

Requirements & Experience

  • Experience in derivatives trading, structuring or structured product sales, with a strong understanding of option-based and synthetic strategies and their implications for liquidity, tradability, and suitability within ETFs
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale new product categories or platforms, ideally within ETFs, derivatives, or structured products
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to challenge conventional approaches and design innovative solutions
  • Highly organised and detail-oriented, able to manage multiple complex workstreams while meeting tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, with comfort engaging senior internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Self-starter with a strong sense of ownership and accountability, able to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions and manage delivery across multiple stakeholders
