OVERVIEW:

The Equity Trading team is a vibrant, diverse, high performing team responsible for trading Black Rock’s equity and equity derivative orders. It is a market leader in its field and involves trading substantial volumes of cash equities, Swaps, ETF’s Futures, Options and other listed and OTC derivatives. It works closely with several investment teams covering a range of strategies including index, quantitative and fundamental. The Desk also manages core partnerships with the Broker community.

We are seeking candidates at both the Associate and Vice President level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute Equity orders for several different strategies and understand the concept of Index and Quantitative trading along with the full trading lifecycle.

  • Formulate and build trading strategies taking into consideration benchmarks, liquidity demands, risk and cost.

  • Pro-actively evolve and innovate the trading processes to enhance efficiencies, automation, reduce cost and reduce risk.

  • Help drive trading forward from a technical perspective, using data analytics, leveraging coding skills and technical experience to impact trading processes and execution.

  • Build relationships with the broker community.

  • Operate as part of a highly collaborative and supportive team culture and contribution to the wider Global Trading firm community.

  • Contribute to market leading trading and data platforms including Aladdin.

  • Stay informed about market events and trends, actively sharing insights and perspectives with the investment and trading community.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:

  • Educational Background: Degree education along with relevant certifications or qualifications.

  • Trading Experience: 3-8 years of EMEA trading experience or a financial analytical role with a strong understanding of equity markets.

  • Technical Proficiency: Strength in data analytics and confident in coding and use of AI. Knowledge of Python, JAVA and SQL an advantage, along with experience in trading platforms.

  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Resilient and adaptable team player with excellent communication skills. Ability to discuss and share market insights.

  • Relationship Management: Ability to manage multiple relationships both internally and externally.

  • Positive Attitude and Organizational Skills: Enthusiastic and constructive approach to challenges, with a long-term mindset and looking to build and develop a career over time. Thrive in entrepreneurial and dynamically evolving environments while remaining well-organized, disciplined, and highly attentive to detail.

  • Work Ethic and Innovation: Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and eager to innovate and evolve the trading team.

Our hybrid work model

Black Rock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
