Iberia Wealth Business Overview
The Iberia Wealth team is responsible for managing and expanding Black Rock’s relationships across Spain, Portugal, and Andorra. The team covers the full Wealth ecosystem, including Asset Managers, Wealth Managers, Private Banks, Retail Networks, Fund Platforms, Independent Financial Advisors, and Digital players.
Our objective is to grow the business, strengthen brand visibility, and deliver Black Rock’s full investment platform, spanning Active funds, ETFs, Index funds, and Private Markets solutions, in close alignment with the EMEA Wealth strategy.
Key responsibilities
Based in Madrid, this role is responsible for leading the Distribution segment within Iberia Wealth, encompassing Private Banks, Retail Networks, Fund Platforms, and Independent Financial Advisors across Spain, Portugal, and Andorra.
The position focuses on positioning the full breadth of Black Rock’s investment platform, from Active strategies and ETFs to Index funds and Private Market solutions, in Iberia.
The role operates in close alignment with the overall Iberia Wealth strategy, ensuring a consistent approach to client engagement, business development, and brand positioning across the region. Key responsibilities include defining the commercial strategy, driving the execution of business plans, leading a team, and delivering results in terms of net flows, net fees and market share growth:

Define and execute a client-centric commercial strategy for the Distribution segment in Iberia, aimed at deepening client relationships and driving the growth of Black Rock’s Wealth franchise across Spain, Portugal, and Andorra.

Lead and oversee Black Rock’s Distribution business, ensuring performance accountability, best-practice execution, and alignment with the firm’s broader commercial objectives.

Drive day-to-day coverage of key relationships across Private Banks, Retail Networks, Fund Platforms, and Independent Financial Advisors, ensuring coordinated and consistent client engagement.

Collaborate closely with investment and product teams to deliver on strategic priorities and expand expertise across Active funds, ETFs, Index strategies, and Private Market solutions.

Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships and portfolio solutions, fostering innovation and cross-functional collaboration to enhance client value.

Represent Black Rock in client events, presentations, and educational sessions, contributing as a speaker and supporting the ongoing development of high-impact engagement formats.

Conduct ongoing analysis of the Iberia Distribution landscape, providing market insights and contributing to the evolution of Black Rock’s product offering to meet changing client needs.

Promote and expand access to Black Rock’s thought leadership, ensuring that Distribution clients benefit from the firm’s global investment expertise and insights.

Ensure full adherence to regulatory and legal requirements, maintaining the highest standards of compliance and integrity within the team.

Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and commercial excellence, developing talent and ensuring the team’s alignment with the EMEA Wealth strategy.
Knowledge/Experience
-
Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a financial services sales or leadership role within the Wealth and Asset Management industry, with a proven track record in the Distribution segment.

Demonstrated experience in defining and executing commercial strategies, leading teams, and delivering measurable business growth across Private Banks, Retail Networks, Fund Platforms, and Independent Financial Advisors.

Thorough knowledge of the Iberia Private Banking, Wealth, and Asset Management landscape, including market dynamics, clients, and regulatory environment across Spain, Portugal, and Andorra.

Deep understanding of the sales lifecycle, including strategic prospecting, client acquisition, objection handling, deal closing, and long-term relationship management.

Comprehensive understanding of investment solutions, including Active funds, ETFs, Index strategies, and Private Market solutions.

Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, develop, and motivate high-performing teams.

Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with product, investment, and marketing teams to align local execution with broader EMEA Wealth priorities.

Strategic mindset combined with operational excellence, ensuring disciplined execution, pipeline management, and delivery of commercial objectives.
Skills/Qualifications

At least a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or equivalent professional experience.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and translate insights into actionable commercial strategies.

Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to build high-quality business plans, performance dashboards, and client presentations.

Excellent research and data management capabilities, supporting market analysis, segmentation, and business development activities.

Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and external partners.

High level of commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with strong attention to detail and execution discipline.

Proactive, collaborative, and results-driven mindset, able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.

Our hybrid work model
Black Rock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
