About this role

This role sits within Preqin, a part of Black Rock. Preqin plays a key role in how we are revolutionizing private markets data and technology for clients globally, complementing our existing Aladdin technology platform to deliver investment solutions for the whole portfolio.

The Private Markets Data Engineering team is a cross-functional team in Aladdin Data, responsible for innovating and revolutionizing the way in which we acquire, manage and distribute Private Markets data using the latest technologies. MDM (Master Data Management) Engineering focuses on building a data-rich, scalable and highly performant platform that allows centralized master data management for a wide range of use-cases.

We are actively recruiting an experienced Front-end Engineer to develop sophisticated, user-friendly, and robust web-based solutions designed to support and empower our MDM Operations teams.

Key responsibilities include:

• Partner with product management, business users and engineering leadership to define, design and develop a sustainable and flexible UI, application structure and overall solution look and feel.

• Understand key business and workflow principles that drive our business users and embed them in solution proposals

• Create and implement advanced solutions for complex use-cases, proactively recognizing potential issues and obstacles.

• Promote resilience and stability by implementing thorough code reviews, comprehensive unit, regression, and user acceptance testing, as well as adhering to robust DevOps practices

• Provide guidance in developing solutions for team productivity and efficiency, as well as support others in achieving their goals.

• Work effectively with colleagues across multiple offices and international locations.

Experience Required

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, related quantitative field or equivalent practical experience

• 5+ years relevant experience

• Frameworks and languages: ReactJS (v18+ or v19), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SASS

• State management: Redux Toolkit, Zustand, or Jotai; familiarity with React Query or SWR

• API Integration: RESTful or GraphQL API

• Testing & Quality: Unit testing with Jest and React Testing Library, integration and E2E testing using Cypress

• Code Quality Tools: linters, quality and security assurance.

• Performance & Optimisation: lazy loading, code splitting, memoisation; bundle size analysis and optimisation; SSR/SSG with Next.js and middleware usage.

Our hybrid work model
