Role Overview
The APAC Wealth Client Business partners with leading banks, digital wealth platforms and intermediaries to deliver Black Rock’s full suite of investment solutions—indexing, active funds, ETFs, alternatives, model portfolios and managed accounts. The Relationship Manager (RM) will play a critical role in deepening and expanding Black Rock’s partnerships across Taiwan’s wealth distribution landscape, including securities brokers, banks, SITE/SICE asset managers, insurance distributors, and portfolio consultants.
This role is responsible for delivering Black Rock’s full capabilities—including i Shares ETFs (local and offshore), BGF mutual funds, and investment insights—to frontline partners to drive AUM growth, NNB, and long-term client engagement.
The ideal candidate is commercially driven, detail‑oriented, and comfortable navigating complex distributor organizations to build trust, influence stakeholders, and execute business plans effectively.
Key Responsibilities
Client Coverage & Commercial Delivery
-
Own and manage day‑to‑day relationships with assigned distributors (e.g., brokers, banks, and life insurers) with a primary focus on Central and Southern Taiwan.
-
Develop and execute account plans aligned with the Taiwan Wealth strategy, product priorities, and annual sales targets.
-
Drive fundraising outcomes for flagship products, including local ETFs, offshore ETFs, BGF funds, and active ETF offerings.
Engagement & Execution
-
Lead regular market updates, branch training sessions, and strategic engagements with senior gatekeepers and key person in distributors.
-
Coordinate across internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, DCP, CEM, GPS, PMG, COO) to deliver a seamless “One Black Rock” client experience.
-
Support pre‑IPO/IPO activities, roadshows, commercial negotiations, and operational setup with broker partners.
Pipeline & Sales Management
-
Maintain accurate and timely updates of activities, pipelines, meeting notes, and theme tagging in Microsoft Dynamics 365.
-
Use activity analytics to improve coverage efficiency and ensure transparency across the team.
-
Track progress against NNB, NNBF, product penetration, and client engagement metrics.
Market Intelligence & Advisory
-
Act as the client’s trusted advisor on market trends, ETF flows, macro updates, and portfolio construction.
-
Provide feedback to product and investment teams on client preferences, competitor movements, and market dynamics.
Cross‑Team Collaboration
-
Work closely with other RMs and regional teams to share intelligence, coordinate joint initiatives, and elevate Taiwan’s strategic priorities.
-
Contribute to full-team campaigns, content localizations, client events, and ecosystem partnership development (e.g., i Shares certification, thematic campaigns).
Qualifications & Experience
Must-Have
-
5–10 years of experience in wealth management, asset management, brokerage distribution, or related financial services.
-
Securities investment trust and advisory sales certification.
-
Strong understanding of ETFs, mutual funds, and Taiwan’s wealth ecosystem (securities firms, SITE/SICE, banks, insurers).
-
Excellent communication and presentation skills in Mandarin.
-
Ability to build trusted relationships across multiple seniority levels (RM, product teams, branch managers).
-
High accountability, strong follow‑through, and comfort working under deadline-driven commercial targets.
Preferred Candidate
-
The ideal candidate understands brokerage distributors and the local ETF market and can quickly align with Black Rock's business plan and strategy.
-
They should possess strong ETF knowledge and be able to flexibly demonstrate application in mutual funds advisory, enabling them to provide a full range of products to distributors.
-
The candidate blends “book smart” and “street smart” to excel as the relationship manager.
-
Qualified applicants, including people with disabilities, are welcome to apply.
Personal Attributes
-
Client-centric mindset and strong commercial instincts.
-
Team player with a “One Black Rock” mindset and willingness to support teammates’ coverage when needed.
-
Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to distil complex investment concepts into client-friendly narratives.
-
Proactive, adaptable, and able to navigate ambiguity in a fast-growing market environment.
What We Offer
-
Opportunity to represent the world’s largest asset manager in one of Asia’s most dynamic wealth markets.
-
Exposure to full investment capabilities across ETFs, active funds, and multi-asset solutions.
-
A collaborative culture with strong mentorship, cross-team support, and clear growth paths.
-
Direct impact on franchise growth, strategic client relationships, and major product launches in Taiwan.
