About this role

Black Rock is a global leader in investment, risk, and advisory services, combining deep intellectual capital, sophisticated risk analytics, and advanced investment technology to support institutional and individual investors worldwide. At its core is Aladdin®—a unified operating system for investment managers spanning public and private markets globally. Aladdin® brings together comprehensive deal and portfolio management, trading, operations, and risk capabilities on a single platform to enable informed decision making, effective risk oversight, efficient execution, operating model flexibility and scale.

The Aladdin Solutions Engineering (SE) leverages deep product, markets, and workflow expertise to design and present best in class solutions for prospective clients. SE plays a pivotal role in articulating how Aladdin’s integrated capabilities address client operating model challenges across asset managers, insurers, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, and alternative investors. In addition to leading presentations, workflow translation, and technical diligence, the team produces specialized content, research, and competitive insights that elevate business development engagements and increase the probability of commercial success.

We are seeking a senior leader to run the Aladdin Solutions Engineering across APAC. This role blends technical leadership, commercial partnership, and regional strategy, with responsibility for setting up the APAC SE vision and driving high-quality, consultative engagement that accelerates Aladdin adoption across the region. The ideal candidate brings deep investment and platform expertise, credibility with senior institutional stakeholders, strong operating model fluency, and the ability to lead and inspire highly skilled teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and scale the APAC Solutions Engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Partner closely with APAC Business Development to design and execute a cohesive regionwide strategy, including pipeline prioritization, commercial planning, and client engagement models.

  • Serve as the senior technical voice for the region, representing APAC client needs, market dynamics, and competitive signals to global product and leadership forums.

  • Own the technical components of complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise sales cycles—from early discovery through solution design, demonstrations, POCs, and technical diligence.

  • Deliver sophisticated, workflow-oriented demonstrations tailored to investment, risk, operations, and technology teams across client organizations.

  • Use a consultative selling approach to diagnose operating model challenges and align Aladdin’s integrated front-to-back capabilities with client strategic objectives.

  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders (e.g., CIO, CTO, COO, Heads of Desks), positioning Aladdin as a strategic partner in transformation.

  • Collaborate deeply with Business Development, Product, Legal/Commercial, Data, and Implementation teams to ensure unified, high quality client engagement throughout the commercial lifecycle and channel structured client and market feedback to appropriate partners, influencing roadmap priorities and solution enhancements.

  • Maintain a deep understanding of regional trends across investment processes, portfolio construction, risk management, private markets, market structure, and regulatory developments.

  • Represent Aladdin and Black Rock externally at client sessions, industry conferences, workshops, and executive forums.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • 10+ years of experience in investment management, enterprise investment technology, or financial markets, ideally across OMS/EMS, portfolio management systems, risk systems, or private markets platforms.

  • Strong understanding of front-to-back investment workflows, risk processes, portfolio construction, trading, operations, and technology architectures.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complexity and craft compelling narratives for executives and technical audiences alike.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with demonstrated ability to diagnose client challenges and architect high impact solutions.

  • Proven success partnering with sales teams on complex enterprise technology deals.

  • Self-starter comfortable operating in fast paced, multi-cultural environments; strong team management and leadership skills.

  • Organized, diligent, and committed to excellence in client engagement and internal execution

  • Deep passion for financial markets and technology.

Preferred

  • Languages: Strong English proficiency essential; additional Asian language(s) a benefit.

  • Experience leading or scaling presales or solutions engineering teams.

  • Certifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, or similar.
