About This Role
The Medical Science Liaison Alzheimer’s disease & Neuropsychiatry is a 60% field-based medical expert who drives strategic scientific engagement to support Biogen’s Alzheimer’s disease (Gulf) & Neuropsychiatry (GCC) portfolio . This role is a SME who provides high-quality medical & scientific support to key medical experts (KMEs), delivers complex scientific presentations, and leads expert discussions. They work on medical core pillars: data dissemination, data generation and medical insight collections. The MSL conducts analysis and selection to define the KME universe for the respective country and establishes robust KME networks to support pipeline objectives. Ultimately, the role serves to advance Biogen’s strategy through expert engagement, medical education, and evidence and insights generation.
What You'll Do

As a SME delivers high-quality, complex medical presentations and lead scientific discussions with KMEs to translate pipeline data into impactful content to inform clinical decision-making. Collects critical insights to inform local strategy.

Disseminate innovative medical education materials and support internal training on disease areas and treatments to ensure consistent, up-to-date knowledge across internal and external stakeholders.

Stay current on therapy advances, research developments, and Biogen’s products to maintain scientific credibility and relevance in all engagements. Attends congresses and conference as needed.

Provide field-based medical support to KMEs in GCC to build trusted relationships and ensure accurate understanding of pipeline therapies.

Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g., sales, market access, pharmacovigilance) by sharing appropriately insights and executing on an aligned medical plan in line with the overall organizational goals.

Organize and deliver medical education events and ensure compliance with local regulations to promote informed clinical decision-making.

Conduct analysis and selection to define the KME universe for GCC to identify and prioritize key experts for strategic engagement. Execute engagement plans as per plan.

Establish and maintain KME networks to support pipeline objectives to foster long-term partnerships that enhance medical insight and influence.

In line with country strategy contribute to expanded access program (EAP) communications to facilitate ethical and transparent access to investigational therapies.

Ensure all activities comply with Biogen’s Code of Business Conduct and local SOPs to uphold ethical standards and regulatory requirements in all interactions.
Who You Are
You are a scientifically driven Medical Science Liaison who thrives in a field-based, highly collaborative environment, engaging external stakeholders while working closely with medical affairs, pharmacovigilance, market access, and commercial teams. You bring strong judgment and scientific rigor to complex medical discussions, generating meaningful insights that inform medical strategy, education, and research initiatives. Trusted by internal leadership, you balance autonomy and compliance to influence standards of care, support patient safety, and strengthen Biogen’s scientific reputation.
Required Skills

7+ years of relevant experience i n the pharmaceutical industry, including 2 to 4 years of experience as Medical Science Liaison.

Master’s degree in Medical or Life Sciences is required; advanced degrees such as M.D., Ph.D., or Pharm.D. are strongly preferred.

Neurology experience is preferred, particularly within specialty or rare disease areas.

Strong scientific acumen with the ability to engage in high-level, evidence-based discussions with healthcare professionals.

Working knowledge of cross-functional environments, including Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety (PV), Market Access, Legal, and Compliance.

Experience in the Middle East region is a plus; prior Saudi Arabia experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Willingness to travel up to 60% across the region as required by the role.

Fluency in English is required.
