About This Role:Biogen’s two-year PhD fellowship in Worldwide Medical (WWM) is an exceptional opportunity for recent doctoral graduates to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of Medical Affairs and the broader pharmaceutical industry. As a fellow, you will engage in a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience that provides an accelerated introduction to a career in medical affairs within a pioneering biotech environment. In the first year, you will undertake four distinct, 3-month rotational experiences across various functional areas within Worldwide Medical, with an additional opportunity to select a rotation outside of medical. This exposure will deepen your understanding of our cross-functional partners and their collaboration with medical teams. In your second year, you will focus on an area of concentration within Worldwide Medical, preparing you for a sustained career in the biopharmaceutical field. Throughout the fellowship, you will contribute to Biogen’s business needs, fully integrating as a member of the Worldwide Medical organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design and conduct post-approval clinical studies and real-world data generation efforts.
  • Manage scientific publications and create supporting medical communications materials to foster scientific exchange.
  • Plan and oversee Biogen’s presence at scientific conferences.
  • Address product-related questions from patients and healthcare providers (HCPs).
  • Cultivate relationships and scientific exchange with key medical experts.
  • Provide medical education to both internal and external audiences, including field medical teams and healthcare providers.

Required Skills:

  • Recent PhD graduates or current postdoctoral fellows in the biological or physical sciences.
  • Interest in a potential career in industry and a fast-paced work environment.
  • Talent in relationship-building and working collaboratively.
  • Aptitude for gathering, interpreting, and communicating complex, scientific information.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and execution skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and/or teaching experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in medical or scientific communications.
  • Familiarity with clinical research or data analysis.
  • Previous experience in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.

Additional Information:

The base compensation range for this role is: $105,000.00-$105,000.00
Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity.
