Better is the first AI-native mortgage and home equity finance company, revolutionizing one of the largest financial markets in the world. We make home finance radically more transparent; using AI and proprietary technology to eliminate friction from the mortgage process through our industry-leading AI platform, Tinman®, and the first voice-based AI mortgage assistant, Betsy™. Our mission is simple: make homeownership cheaper, faster and more accessible by transforming how people buy and finance homes.
The facts that speak for themselves:
- We’ve funded over $110 billion in loans (more than any other fintech in the US!)
- Raised over $1.2 billion in equity capital to modernize the $15 trillion mortgage industry
- Better’s propriety AI platform makes us an award-winning lender:
- Fintech Breakthrough Award 2025: Best Lending Innovation
- Yahoo! Finance (Jan 2025): Best Mortgage Lender for First-Time Homebuyers – Best for quick approval
- Yahoo! Finance (2025): Best Online Mortgage Lender
- Money Magazine (2025): Best for fast closing
- Forbes (2023): Best Online Mortgage Lender
We’re building the future of home finance—and we’re looking for smart, driven, ambitious innovators who are ready to tackle the most impactful work of their careers.
What You’ll Do:
· End-to-End Project Leadership: Lead complex, high-priority business initiatives from concept to completion, including departmental reorganizations, new market entries, or operational scaling projects.
· Strategic Stakeholder Management: Partner with executive leadership to define project goals, align business requirements with available resources, and ensure results drive the company’s bottom line.
· Strategic Planning & Risk Mitigation: Build comprehensive project charters and roadmaps. Proactively identify risks to project health and develop contingency plans to keep initiatives on track.
· Performance Metrics & Reporting: Define Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for each project; track and report on ROI and success metrics to senior leadership.
· Change Management & Strategy: Lead the "people side" of business shifts, designing communication plans and training strategies to ensure high internal adoption of new ways of working.
· Vendor & Partner Oversight: Manage relationships with external consultants or service providers, ensuring all third-party deliverables align with the internal project scope.
What We’re Looking For:
· Experience: 7–10 years of Project Management experience in a fast-paced corporate or startup environment.
· Team Management: Define clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability structures (RACI).
· Project Versatility: Proven track record of managing non-technical projects
· Executive Presence: The successful candidate must demonstrate strong executive presence, with the ability to earn the trust and respect of senior business leaders.
· Leadership Presence: An expert communicator who can influence without authority and bridge gaps between different departments (e.g., Finance, Ops, and Legal).
· Methodological Mastery: Deep understanding of project frameworks (Agile, Lean, or Waterfall) and advanced proficiency in tools like Jira, Asana, or Monday.com.
