Role:

Industrial Automation Engineer:

Location: Lessines, Belgium

Mission:

Be a key driver of smart manufacturing at Baxter Lessines. As an Industrial Automation Engineer, you will ensure the reliability, performance, and continuous improvement of automated production systems—supporting 24/7 operations that deliver life‑saving solutions worldwide.

What You Will Do:

Ensure Operational Continuity

  • Quickly diagnose and resolve automation issues (PLC, drives, etc.) to minimize downtime.

  • Provide expert support to production and maintenance teams, including on-call support when required.

Lead Automation Projects

  • Implement automation upgrades and new initiatives.

  • Write and review technical specifications and oversee system validation (IQ/OQ/PQ).

  • Support CAPEX planning and ensure alignment with site automation strategy.

Optimize & Innovate

  • Monitor and continuously improve production systems and processes.

  • Propose and deploy new technologies (PLC, HMI, Vision, AI, SCADA).

  • Maintain and update PLC, SCADA, and Vision systems.

Collaborate & Train

  • Act as a technical advisor across departments.

  • Train teams and ensure documentation remains up to date.

  • Manage relationships with suppliers and external partners.

Ensure Compliance

  • Apply GMP, validation, and Change Control processes.

  • Participate in audits and ensure regulatory compliance.

What You Will Bring:

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering or Bachelor’s in Automation / Industrial Computing.

  • 5–10 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Strong expertise in Siemens S7 and Allen Bradley systems.

  • Solid knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electricity, and mechanics.

  • Fluent French and good command of English.

  • Key Competencies: Analytical mindset, autonomy, flexibility, strong sense of responsibility, and excellent communication and training skills.
