THE ROLE

We’re hiring a Senior/Staff Product Designer to join our fast-growing team at Baseten.

We’re looking for someone who pairs strong visual design skills with sharp product instincts and the ability to operate in a highly technical environment. You’ll take full ownership of the design process, from early explorations and internal reviews to usability testing, PRDs, and implementation.

You’ll work closely with engineering and product to solve product problems and design features for a highly technical persona. You’ll be deeply embedded in the product development process and expected to drive outcomes—not just deliver visuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the end-to-end design process: prototyping, design reviews, user testing, writing PRDs, and implementation. No hand-offs.

• Work directly with engineers to solve problems and ship high-quality, user-friendly features.

• Contribute to and maintain our lightweight design system.

• Work directly with customers to validate your work and solve real problems.

• Help shape product direction and strategy across the team.

REQUIREMENTS

• Excellent visual design skills. You have a strong eye for detail and care deeply about UI quality and craft.

• Experience collaborating closely with engineering, product, and marketing to ship product.

• You take initiative and drive projects end-to-end. The work doesn’t stop at Figma.

• Ability to contribute to the frontend codebase to polish UI and interactions. Designers should code.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience building or designing developer tools, or familiarity with the developer persona.

• Background working in early-stage, fast-moving, high ownership environments.

• Some knowledge of ML, the infrastructure that powers it or enthusiasm for learning more about it all.
