As a Consulting Heater Integrity Engineer, you provide technical expertise related to inspection, assessment, and integrity optimization of fired equipment assets within the refinery and process industries. You deliver consulting services through performance, reliability, and risk assessment while leveraging software tools such as Life Quest and Correct IR. You are collaborating with global teams, supporting product development, mentoring engineers, and driving business development. You are managing client expectations, presenting results, and continuously enhancing technical knowledge to establish subject matter expertise.
As a Consulting Heater Integrity Engineer, you are responsible for:

Providing consulting services related to the integrity optimization management of fired equipment that includes performance and reliability optimization, fitness for service and remaining life assessment, risk assessment, and failure analysis.

Providing technical and training consulting services with respect to CorrectIR application and implementation, including management of assigned client licenses.

Product supporting and development of software applications related to the integrity optimization management of fired equipment (e.g., Life Quest Heater, Life Quest Reformer, CorrectIR) by working closely with the software business team.

Providing leadership and mentoring to junior Assessment Engineers

Maintain proficiencies in other Advanced Engineering service roles as applicable (e.g., Metallurgical and Materials Engineer, Laboratory testing, FEA and Assessment Engineer) and provide project support for other business teams as requested.

Engaging in and contributing to business development within Process Inspection and other business teams as requested.

Providing technical and project management support to Advanced Engineering and other business teams as requested.

Managing client expectations and delivery of services and communicating to client results and recommendations.

Independently seeking out technical knowledge that establishes industry credibility and subject matter expertise in fired equipment by presenting and participating in industry recognized conferences, training and events.

Providing recommendations to drive improvement in processes, technical solutions, inspection and assessment of technology, and software applications.

Act in accordance with company policies required as part of the engineering optimization of deliverable activities.

Complying with all local governmental requirements set forth to perform required duties.

Fueling your passion To be successful in this role you will:

Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or Applied Science.

Have 5+ years of experience in the process, refinery, or petrochemical industry.

Have a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license in Canada.

Have a strong knowledge of API, ASME, and industry codes and standards for inspection and assessment of process equipment.

Have proven ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills in industrial environments.

Have strong communication skills and the ability to represent the company professionally with clients.

Have the ability to make independent technical decisions with operational impact.

Have proficiency in standard and proprietary software tools, with adaptability to new technologies.

Have strong numerical and analytical capabilities.

Have excellent attention to detail and ability to work effectively in teams.

Have willingness to travel up to 33% (domestic and international).

Have proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Working Conditions
-
Working in both office and field environments, including refinery and petrochemical sites.

Working around heavy industrial equipment with strict adherence to safety protocols.
-
Working at heights, confined spaces, and varying environmental conditions (hot/cold).

Working extended hours in the field (up to 12–16 hours/day during assignments).

Lifting up to 70 lbs and wearing full protective safety equipment as required.
