RIS I is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktop, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.

AT&T is seeking an accomplished and highly skilled Senior Network Engineer: To drive the success of a large government contract. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the design, deployment, security, and ongoing operations of complex network infrastructures while ensuring compliance with government and organizational standards. You will mentor a team of network professionals and serve as a technical point of escalation for advanced networking challenges, helping ensure robust, secure, and high-performing connectivity across the program.

Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:

This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Excellence: Lead the execution of standard operating procedures for the Connectivity Operations Team, including comprehensive use of ticketing systems and meticulous documentation practices.
  • Project Leadership:
  • Provide technical leadership and hands-on support for major network upgrade projects and strategic initiatives, ensuring timely and effective delivery.
  • Component Replacement:
  • Direct and perform the replacement of failed networking components (switches, routers, firewalls, etc.) to maintain optimal network performance and minimize downtime.
  • End-User Support:
  • Oversee and participate in resolving advanced end-user connectivity needs, providing expert troubleshooting and guidance.

LAN & Network Device Oversight:

  • Lead and support the installation, maintenance, operation, and security of LAN infrastructure and network devices, ensuring reliability and compliance with security policies.

Access and Resource Management:

  • Manage and enforce access to network segments and resources in accordance with strict network access policies and government regulations.
  • System Modernization:
  • Oversee and execute the update and refresh of hardware, operating systems, and software to deliver critical functionality and maintain security posture.

Change & Configuration Management:

Champion adherence to change and configuration management standards, ensuring traceability and accountability for all network changes.

Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)

Required Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Eight (8) years of experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity are required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) additional years of network engineering experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree.

Certifications:

  • Must possess an IAT Level II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SSCP). CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) or equivalent certification or higher is REQUIRED.Both certifications must be maintained and current as a condition of employment.

Technical Expertise:

  • Demonstrated experience with installation and configuration of network devices, including firewalls, switches, routers, cabling, and devices from Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper.
  • Deep understanding of LAN/WAN architecture, network access controls, and network security best practices.
  • Skilled in network diagnostics, performance tuning, and troubleshooting in complex, mission-critical environments.
  • Familiarity with DoD, federal, or large enterprise network environments is highly desirable.

Professional Skills:

  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities, with experience directing and developing network teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interface with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Superior organizational and documentation skills, with a commitment to process improvement and compliance.

Physical & Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work in dynamic, mission-critical settings and respond to after-hours incidents as required.
  • Must be able to lift up-to 50 pounds and perform occasional stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and work in tight spaces as needed.
  • In order to be considered for this position, you must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record and be eligible to drive an AT&T company vehicle.
