The Asana Marketing team is responsible for fueling business growth and building a brand customers love. We create campaigns and content to attract new accounts and inspire current ones to grow with us. We continue to grow, with a global team focused on revenue and field marketing, product marketing, brand and content creation, advertising, and lifecycle marketing.

We’re looking for a senior Paid Search leader to own and evolve one of our most critical growth channels. This is a high-impact role within our Paid Media team, responsible for driving efficient, scalable sign-ups through world-class SEM execution and strategy.

You’ll bring deep expertise in value-based bidding, modern AI-driven SEM capabilities, and experimentation at scale. While your primary focus will be AMER execution, you’ll play a central role in defining global paid search strategy—partnering closely with regional experts to adapt global foundations for local market dynamics.

This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on ownership. You’ll manage a complex, high-budget program end-to-end, work closely with a media agency, and act as the subject-matter expert representing paid search to senior stakeholders across Marketing, Growth, Analytics, and Finance.

This role is based in our San Francisco office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.

What you’ll achieve:

  • Plan, launch, and scale SEM programs that drive efficient sign-ups and downstream revenue impact.

  • Oversee daily operations including budget allocation, bid strategy, campaign architecture, experimentation, and landing page optimization.

  • Define and execute the paid search strategy and experimentation roadmap, leveraging insights to improve efficiency, expand reach, and unlock new growth opportunities.

  • Maximize marginal return using revenue and cost curves, incrementality testing, and advanced measurement frameworks.

  • Collaborate with agency partners and internal teams (Analytics, Growth, Product, Brand, Finance) to localize, implement, and scale winning approaches.

  • Clearly communicate performance, insights, and recommendations to stakeholders, translating complex analysis into actionable business decisions.

  • Proactively identify opportunities, test new platform features and formats, and continuously evolve how paid search drives value for the business.

About You:

  • 6+ years of SEM experience scaling large, sophisticated paid search programs, with deep expertise across the AMER market and its seasonality nuances.

  • Proven budget ownership, managing complex portfolios with annual spend of $XXM+ across Google Ads and Microsoft Ads.

  • Advanced measurement expertise, including incrementality testing (Geo-X, conversion lift) and attribution approaches such as MMM.

  • Strong platform fluency, including SA360 or comparable tools, and advanced analytical skills using Excel, Google Sheets, and related analytics platforms.

  • A rigorous, data-driven mindset with a strong understanding of funnels, experimentation design, and optimization methodologies.

  • Agency leadership experience, with a track record of setting direction, holding partners accountable, and driving results through collaboration.

  • Exceptional communication skills, able to influence and align stakeholders at all levels with clear, confident storytelling.

  • Comfort with ambiguity and autonomy, demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and a history of making high-impact decisions in dynamic environments.

  • Demonstrates curiosity about AI tools and emerging technologies, with a willingness to learn and leverage them to enhance productivity, collaboration, or decision-making

At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.
