About the Role
Our Solution Engineering division develops SoCs for various application segments, using the latest IP products from Arm and other vendors.
Arm is seeking an experienced SoC Clock, Power and Reset Lead to drive development for our next-generation SoCs. In this pivotal role, you will collaborate closely with Architecture, verification and implementation engineering teams to develop robust solutions that meet power, performance and area expectations across a diverse set of workloads and deployment environments.
You will be responsible for defining micro-architectural specifications and delivering end-to-end power, clock and reset solutions for SoCs targeting data centre, consumer or IoT applications. This includes working with architecture to define PPA goals, developing strategies to meet those targets, and partnering with hardware and software teams to realise best-in-class low power and high-speed solutions.
Responsibilities
As a lead design engineer with a knowledge of SoCs and subsystems, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the SoC power, clock and reset microarchitecture.
Key responsibilities include:
Work with the SoC architects to understand system and subsystem requirements, and develop the design specifications which meet the Power, Performance and Area goals.
Write SoC-level design micro-architecture specifications, develop RTL, fix bugs, run design checks and contribute to the generation of implementation constraints.
Work with subsystem design leads to communicate clock, reset and power strategies and review micro-architectural designs.
Work with the verification lead to review test plans and help debug design issues.
Work with clock, power and reset architects to identify and define next-generation IPs and methodologies to improve system-level power and performance.
Improve and evolve design methodologies, flows and guidelines.
Mentor and support junior team members to ensure successful project execution.
Required Skills and Experience
Master’s degree (or higher) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
10+ years of experience in SoC development, with a focus on clocking, power or reset.
Deep knowledge of system architecture and micro-architecture.
Understanding and proven track record of making SoC-level micro-architectural trade-offs.
Power management and low-power design techniques.
Good understanding of digital hardware design and Verilog HDL.
Real-world experience planning and implementing clock, power and reset domains in large SoCs.
Nice to Have Skills and Experience
Experience with ARM-based designs or ARM system architectures.
Understanding of:
Revision management systems such as Git
Advanced synthesis checks
Functional verification, X-propagation, GLS, lint, etc.
DFT and physical implementation flows
