As a Sourcing Manager in charge of the sourcing and onboarding of 3PL/4PL logistics services providers (LSPs) reporting to the Director, Global Sourcing, you will oversee the execution of sourcing events from needs/requirements gathering to onboarding within the EMEA Region for the Electric Distribution Systems Business Unit. You will be responsible for the deployment and execution of region-specific logistics 3PL/4PL projects in compliance with the global logistics strategy, as well as maintaining effective business relationships with existing or new providers of 3PL/4PL services to maximize EDS’ logistics capabilities and enhance the customers’ order-to-delivery experience.
Your Role:
Operations Excellence
- Lead sourcing projects for 3PL/4PL providers (new and renewal agreements).
- Define detailed 3PL/4PL requirements in collaboration with plant operations, PC&L, customers, and project teams.
- Develop and deploy region-specific 3PL/4PL contracts ensuring partner accountability, performance, and process transparency.
- Monitor and report logistics performance for EMEA depots, SILS, and JIT locations under your scope.
- Lead sourcing, contract negotiations, execution, and onboarding of logistics service providers.
- Participate in global and regional cost‑improvement initiatives.
- Assess and improve transportation performance; resolve issues with logistics service providers.
- Support medium-to-complex logistics operations together with plants and PC&L teams.
- Conduct monthly business reviews (MBRs) with 3PL/4PL partners to ensure SLA compliance.
Sourcing Excellence Support
- Support the Global Sourcing Team in standardizing 3PL/4PL sourcing processes and agreements.
- Translate site logistics and supply chain needs into sourcing requirements.
- Develop and refine sourcing methodologies enabling fast evaluation and implementation of logistics solutions.
- Conduct quarterly global MBRs with logistics providers.
- Provide inputs for budgeting and forecasting of logistics spend.
- Project-manage activities from sourcing kick-off to onboarding.
- Ensure smooth handover from sourcing to operations.
- Work with the Freight Pay partner to implement new contracts and T&Cs in the freight bill & audit system.
Performance Management
- Drive continuous improvement against logistics KPIs.
- Analyze large data sets to evaluate 3PL/4PL bids and recommend optimal solutions.
- Assess and communicate operational and financial performance for EMEA sites (variance analysis, root cause, service levels).
- Prepare and lead monthly business reviews showcasing spend, savings, and performance updates.
- Deliver on annual cost‑reduction targets and ensure accurate savings reporting.
- Maintain updated contact lists for all 3PL/4PL programs.
Requirements:
- 5–7 years of experience in sourcing 3PL/4PL logistics services globally (EMEA preferred).
- Strong knowledge of the EMEA 3PL/4PL market and key logistics service providers.
- Educational background, certifications, or diplomas in logistics and/or supply chain.
- Experience running medium-to-large logistics sourcing projects.
- Proven project management experience within manufacturing, automotive, or logistics industries.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, BI tools (Tableau/Power BI), and logistics applications such as Pro Ship, Freight Rater, Expense Allocate, Project44.
- Strong analytical skills, including working with large data sets.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across sites, supply chain, logistics, and finance teams.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Ability to ensure compliance with SLAs and drive continuous improvement.
