On January 22, 2025, Aptiv announced its decision to separate its EDS division to form two separate independent companies:https://www.automotiveworld.com/news-releases/aptiv-announces-intention-to-separate-its-electrical-distribution-systems-business/

This role is within the EDS segment, and you will be joining that segment as it becomes its own entity, with a rich heritage and proven track record as a global leader in low and high voltage power and signal distribution systems. Our solutions are central to enabling the next generation of electrified, automated, and connected vehicles, and we are committed to innovation, sustainability, and engineering excellence.

Your Role:

As a Senior System Manager in the Advanced Architecture Team, you play a key role in shaping next‑generation E/E vehicle architectures. Your main objective is to define and optimize advanced E/E architectures and wiring harness concepts for future platforms, integrating:

  • architecture optimization
  • wiring harness improvements
  • deep expertise in electrical centers / power distribution boxes

You collaborate across functions and with customers to turn requirements and use cases into robust, scalable and cost‑efficient E/E solutions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive advanced E/E vehicle architecture as a core member of the Advanced Architecture Team.
  • Lead E/E architecture studies and wiring harness concepts from early concept to final recommendation.
  • Develop and compare architecture alternatives (e.g., domain/zonal) with clear trade‑offs in cost, weight and complexity.
  • Optimize E/E architecture and wiring harnesses for cost, weight, automation and robustness.
  • Apply up‑to‑date E/E architecture knowledge, including ECU hardware/software and electrical center (PDB) expertise.
  • Translate customer requirements into architecture concepts and system requirements.
  • Represent the team in customer workshops, identify pain points and derive improvement opportunities.
  • Analyse business cases and prepare clear recommendations.
  • Prepare technical reports, documentation and management presentations.
  • Lead technical workshops, design reviews and internal/external meetings.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in E/E system architecture and vehicle wiring harness development.
  • Proven hands‑on experience with electrical centers / power distribution boxes (PDBs, fuse/relay boxes, junction boxes, PDCs).
  • Solid understanding of ECU and system requirements and their impact on E/E architecture and wiring.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills focused on architecture optimization and wiring harness improvements.
  • Experience working in international, cross‑functional teams and participating in customer‑facing technical discussions (workshops, reviews, presentations).
  • Very good communication skills in English.
