Role

  • This seasoned leader will be the KPU Head for a multibillion dollar, rapidly growing business unit. Responsibilities include end to end accountability for all current and new products in the BU portfolio. The scope includes ownership of the product through the entire lifecycle from innovation through commercialization to end of life. In addition to managing the direct team this candidate must also manage and drive programs through the highly matrixed engineering organizations in the company. The role will report to the VP Advanced Packaging Products

  • Plating, PVD, Panels and will be located in Santa Clara.

  • Key Responsibilities

  • End-to-end product development and commercialization to achieve target market share and product economics (outcome of product development and execution to budget and schedule.

  • Partner with stakeholders and other KPUs to identify HVPs for breakthrough new products (total solutions for customers to maximize revenue potential for Applied).

  • Anticipate inflections and explores product options ahead of competition.

  • Identify TAM growth opportunities-- new products and product CIP.

  • Identify changes and inflections that create opportunities for breakthrough new products/solutions.

  • Set product vision and strategy: segments, products, applications, IP (Intellectual Property).

  • Run product development projects from concept to product release.

  • Foster strategic relationships with customers regarding their future business strategies/roadmaps and ability to support with AMAT offerings/roadmaps.

  • End to end accountability for customer satisfaction.

  • Manage key technical talent in the group. Identify and grow talent w/critical thinking. And, retain talent.

  • Strong business acumen effectively balancing Cap Ex and Op Ex management.

  • Go-to-market expertise ensuring consistent messaging and a seamless customer journey from initial awareness through purchase and post-sale support.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Education

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • A proven track record of more than 15 years in launching and commercializing industry leading products in the Semiconductor, Display or related process equipment areas.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading large, high performing, multi-disciplinary, global teams.
  • Preference for a candidate who is considered an industry leader in a specific area of process equipment design but has also developed a broader set of skills in systems level thinking and engineering operations.
  • Strong preference for specific Etch process equipment experience.
  • Communication skills both technical and non-technical.
  • MS or PhD in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
