As a Mechanical Engineer, you’ll leverage your strong foundation in physics, mathematics, and materials science to process and resolve mechanical problems, design and implement custom mechanical tooling and associated processes, and enable the handling, assembly, and disassembly of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies throughout the product life cycle. You'll be responsible for designing, developing, and modifying mechanical engineering layouts, schematics, and specifications. You will oversee manufacturing and installation processes, ensuring adherence to industry standards and regulations-- and you'll coordinate the procurement and assembly of mechanical components and equipment for design projects, identifying sources of critical parts and subsystems to resolve technical issues.

Our Group: Facilities Engineering Team

We are part of Applied Materials Israel Facilities team, managing the overall provision of campus building systems in terms of maintenance, sustainability, and redundancy, while considering current and future business demands.

What you'll be doing

  • Responsible for the building’s mechanical systems at Applied Materials’ site in Rehovot.
  • Oversee utility systems (HVAC, OFA, PCW, Fire System, Clean Room, and more).
  • Perform engineering analysis with a strategic view on system performance, obsolescence, capacity, and Clean Room ISO standards.
  • Identify the need to replace or upgrade end-of-life equipment (EOL), initiate and lead upgrade projects.
  • Recognize opportunities for improving system resilience and lead related projects.
  • Manage the interface between active systems and campus-wide projects.
  • Implement changes and adjustments in existing systems.
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Manager as a peer and provide professional authority and guidance to the O&M team.
  • Lead mechanical systems failure analysis.
  • Drive toward the highest system availability and a “zero interruption” approach through resilience and proactive/predictive maintenance.

What should you have?

  • BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering – Must.
  • 2–4 years of experience in mechanical systems maintenance or utility project management in manufacturing industries.
  • Experience in managing subcontractors and/or suppliers.
  • Technical knowledge of utility systems (advantage for familiarity with multiple systems).
  • Hig proficiency in English - ability to manage technical discussions and global communication – Must.
  • Strong customer service awareness.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.
