As a Worldwide Consulting Engineer focused on AI/ML within Apple's Enterprise, Education & Government sales organization, you will be a critical part of a global team responsible for ensuring the technical integrity and strategic positioning of Apple platforms and solutions in the rapidly evolving landscape of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. You will be a strategic advisor and technical visionary, shaping the future of Apple's presence in business and education organizations worldwide by serving as the subject matter expert on AI/ML. You will provide deep domain expertise across cloud, hybrid, and edge-based AI solutions, demonstrating Apple's unique advantages in end-user compute and mobility. Your expertise will extend to critical areas such as industry trends, use case development, and the transformative impact of AI on work and learning. You will be instrumental in identifying and surfacing the technical barriers to broader adoption of Apple technologies within Business and Education environments, effectively communicating these challenges, along with customer needs and insights, directly to Software, Hardware, Services, and Product teams within Apple.

Description:

In this role, you will:

Lead and serve as the WW Subject Matter Expert for Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) across Apple's Enterprise, Education & Government sales organization.

Empower and educate global Field Sales Engineers, customers and partners on Apple's product advantages (Mac, iOS, i PadOS, Apple Silicon) in the context of diverse AI/ML solutions, including cloud-based, hybrid, and edge-based architectures.

Develop and articulate compelling technical value propositions for Apple platforms, demonstrating their role and benefits in a wide array of AI/ML use cases across enterprise, education, and government sectors.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Product Marketing, Business Markets, Engineering, Sales Leadership) to define and refine go-to-market strategies and solution offerings for AI/ML leveraging Apple technology.

Engage directly with strategic customers and partners in deep technical discussions, understanding their AI/ML initiatives, and positioning Apple's unique capabilities to meet their needs and drive innovation.

Advise on the scalability strategy for on-device or edge ML solutions, determining when a single MLX instance is sufficient versus when an EXO-powered cluster is necessary.

Monitor and analyze emerging AI/ML trends, technologies, and industry shifts, translating these insights into actionable guidance and strategic recommendations for field teams and leadership.

Lead and participate in key customer and partner engagements, including executive briefings, workshops, proof-of-concepts, and technical presentations, showcasing Apple's leadership and differentiation in the AI/ML space.

Contribute to the development of technical resources, training modules, and best practices to scale AI/ML knowledge and capabilities across the global sales organization.

Drive thought leadership internally and externally on the transformative impact of AI/ML on work and learning, with a focus on Apple's contributions and advantages.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience collaborating directly with product management, software engineering, and hardware engineering teams to influence platform direction and roadmap priorities.

Experience in using MLX for training, fine-tuning, and running inference for popular models, especially Large Language Models (LLMs), on Mac hardware.

Demonstrated experience in optimizing and deploying machine learning models for on-device inference, particularly on Apple Silicon, leveraging frameworks like Core ML Tools, Metal Performance Shaders, or other low-level optimization techniques.

Practical experience with generative AI models beyond LLMs (e.g., diffusion models, GANs) and their application in enterprise, education, or government use cases.

Hands-on experience with scripting or automation tools (Swift, Bash, Python, or similar) for testing, deployment, or performance analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:

7+ years of experience in a highly technical role such as Solutions Architect, Principal Engineer, Technical Evangelist, or Technical Consultant, with a dedicated focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Deep and demonstrable expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts and applications, including:

Machine Learning algorithms (supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning)

Deep Learning architectures (e.g., CNNs, RNNs, Transformers)

MLOps principles and practices, data science methodologies, and model deployment strategies.

Experience with major cloud AI/ML services (e.g., AWS Sage Maker, Azure ML, Google AI Platform).

Strong understanding of edge AI/ML deployment, optimization, and frameworks.

Ability to engage directly with large organizations and partners on strategic opportunities, advocating for Apple's platform advantages in real-world use cases.

Deep technical knowledge of Apple Silicon architecture, including system-on-chip design, performance optimization, and platform-level security capabilities.

This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $182,900 and $274,900, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
