Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, great ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. When you bring passion, dedication, teamwork, and a sense of ownership to your job, there's no telling what you can accomplish!

As a member of our Worldwide Product Marketing group, you'll represent the customer throughout a product's journey from concept through development and launch. You'll develop and apply insights to help infuse innovative features into our product-development process. Together with our team, you'll work to craft groundbreaking ideas into tangible products that excite the world. At Apple, we combine product management and product marketing responsibilities into a single, cross functional Product Management role that collaborates with design, engineering, finance, legal, marketing communications, public relations, market research, and sales for maximum impact across the organization.

We are looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to join the Worldwide Product Marketing team as the Platform Product Manager for macOS. This individual will be responsible for leading the messaging, launch deliverables, and release strategy for macOS along with helping to define new features that will shape the future of Mac.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the strategy and roadmap for macOS

  • Work with marketing communications and PR to develop product launch activities, press releases, and marketing materials
  • Travel the world as the ambassador for your product attending press briefings and customer visits
  • Possess expert knowledge of competitive and 3rd party products
  • Collect global customer, developer, and partner requirements for future product development
  • Closely follow emerging technology, consumer, and societal trends and make recommendations for how products will fit into those emerging trends
  • Evaluate new technologies and make recommendations to pursue in future products
  • Manage trade-offs involving features, schedule, line positioning, and lifecycle management

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years experience in product marketing and/or product management roles, including at least one entire product development cycle from concept to launch with consumer software products and technologies for software platforms
  • Hands-on experience formulating product messaging and creating outbound marketing for both technical and consumer audiences, and/or partnering with engineering and design during early research and development to define product strategy and roadmap, and with marketing and public relations to craft positioning, and define marketing activities
  • Recent experience within the last 3 years in one or more of the following software segments: operating systems, software integration, computer or mobile hardware, or adjacent
  • Ability to drive communication with key stakeholders, the media, and public, as demonstrated by exceptional presentation skills: developing keynote addresses in an area of subject matter expertise, synthesizing information, applying critical thinking and maintaining composure under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of computer operating systems preferred but will consider mobile/tablet experience as well
  • Experience and ability to synthesize technologies into product communication for broad audience including customers, media, analysts, and industry specialists
  • Best-in-class oral and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated success as a product spokesperson on a national or global level
  • Strong ability to lead through influence, debate and storytelling
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to define product strategy and roadmap, craft positioning, and define marketing activities
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in highly collaborative projects, effective at building consensus, handles high stakes decisions with ease, with the ability to cut through ambiguity
