Fitness and Workout are at the core of the Apple Watch experience. Everybody cares about battery life, but some users are pushing it to the limits with ultra marathons and more. As a power and battery life focused engineer on the Workout team, you will work across the stack; partnering closely with the rest of the Workout and Fitness engineering teams, working closely with our partner sensing teams across GNSS, heart rate, motion, and more, and working with various systems and power teams to make sure users are getting the absolute most out of their workouts without compromising the experience.

Description

The Workout team is responsible for bringing comprehensive workout experiences to life on watchOS and iOS. As an engineer on our team, your primary responsibility will be to help develop the Workout and Fitness apps and make them as efficient as possible. You'll also contribute to different levels of the engineering stack throughout the development process to hit our performance goals, including help influence future hardware directions.","responsibilities":"Writing high quality, well tested, and performant code to enable new features in the Workout app

Architecting systems that are extensible, adaptable, and stand the test of time.

Collaborating with Design, Product Marketing, Health, Motion, and QA teams on technical and product decisions

Preferred Qualifications

An interest in building consumer applications in the Fitness space

Experience optimizing applications and profiling throughout the stack

Experience improving and expanding on existing complex projects and systems

Minimum Qualifications

BS CE/CS or equivalent experience required

Excellent Swift coding ability

Deep commitment to product quality

Excellent communication and collaborative skills

Enthusiastic about working on a cross functional team
