The Apple Services Engineering team is one of the most exciting examples of Apple's long-held passion for combining art and technology! These are the people who power the App Store, Apple TV, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, Fitness+ and Apple Books. And they do it on a massive scale, meeting Apple's high expectations with high performance to deliver a huge variety of entertainment in over 35 languages to more than 150 countries!
On this team, we work closely with the Commerce UI Web team to drive cross functional projects across Apple's Services areas. We lead larger initiatives that make engaging with subscription and purchase/purchase management more initiative for customers. And we drive coordination across web for multiple impacted client teams for shared platform improvements.
Description:
Drive Program Execution: Lead large-scale, cross-functional engineering programs in the Commerce UI space from conception to launch. Develop and manage project plans, define scope, track progress, and manage timelines and dependencies.
Work with a team of high performing EPMs: Work with EPMs that are responsible for delivering our most important, and cross-functional product & engineering initiatives. Beyond providing guidance and coaching your team to bring the best out of them, you will also be deeply involved in their projects, capable of stepping in and unblocking other partner EPMs when they face unforeseen challenges.
Build and Manage Relationships with Stakeholders: Act as the central point of contact for Commerce Web UI programs. Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders across engineering, product, sales, and operations to ensure alignment and smooth execution.
Communicate with Impact: Provide clear, concise, and regular communication on program status, risks, and changes to stakeholders at all levels, from individual engineers to executive leadership. Your written and verbal communication will be critical to our success.
Navigate Ambiguity: Thrive in a dynamic and often ambiguous environment where you are empowered to define project goals, identify the path forward, and create structure where none exists.
Manage Risks & Dependencies: Proactively identify, triage, and mitigate risks and cross-functional dependencies. You are the first to see a problem coming and the one who rallies the team to solve it.
Provide Technical Leadership: Leverage your familiarity with the video advertising ecosystem to contribute to technical discussions, architectural decisions, and to ensure our engineering solutions are scalable, reliable, and effective.","responsibilities":"In this role you will lead core Commerce Web UI projects across Payments and Frameworks teams spanning multiple Apple Services.
We are looking for someone with a solid track record of implementing large-scale, multi-functional, and cross-platform programs that drive the strategic goals of the organization.
This is a fast-paced workplace where individual drive, innovation, and team collaboration are the keys to success.
You have unshakable integrity and are as comfortable speaking to executives in open forums as you are with discussing bugs with a team member.
You will partner and work directly with teams across the Engineering organization and cross-functional teams across Apple as well as multiple external partners, and will lead the end-to-end scoping, planning, execution, and launch of initiatives including: ticket management, web UI experience, experience running multiple teams, web platform experience and capacity planning.
Preferred Qualifications:
Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities; can quickly (realtime) triage, prioritize, and lead cross-functional teams under pressure.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, including negotiation, presentation and influence at all levels including executive leadership.
Strong desire to learn, skills for problem solving, and the ability to make sophisticated trade-offs.
Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
Proven technical aptitude, you quickly learn key technologies related to your initiatives and beyond.
Minimum Qualifications:
Direct experience in and deep familiarity with the web UI and online payment method architecture ecosystems.
8+ years of experience managing complex, cross-functional projects in a large engineering organization accountable for the development and deployment of applications and services at scale.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
