The Home QE team is seeking a highly motivated Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) who is passionate about analyzing and optimizing iOS apps, systems and frameworks. You will be leading reliability and performance investigations based on field and internal testing to pinpoint areas of improvement, working cross functionally to implement changes, and crafting benchmarks and tools to help streamline the process.

Description:

We are seeking an experienced engineer that can help us lead technical investigations that help improve the stability of the Apple Home Ecosystem. Responsibility and tasks include:

Driving end-to-end product reliability based on insights driven by field data analysis

Design tests and develop automated test solutions to benchmark and stress the Home Kit framework

Analyzing and visualizing data from application/algorithm performance and real-world lab test scenarios

Collaboration cross functionally with development and QE teams across different sites and timezones

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven track record of driving end-to-end product reliability

Expertise in data analysis/visualization tools like Splunk and Tableau

Expertise of tools and techniques for analyzing and benchmarking of operating systems, application/algorithm performance

Experience with Swift/Objective-C or XCtest:

Deep understanding of Operating System and Wireless concepts

Knowledge of AI/ML & audio/video testing

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.

5+ years programming experience in Python or C/C++ to develop tools and automations frameworks

5+ years experience in a quality or performance focused role working on consumer facing products or services

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
