As a Platform Engineer, you will be in a highly dynamic role that employs your expertise in software engineering, infrastructure, DevOps, and SRE, to support our Product Engineering teams and our customers. You will participate in building complex software in accordance with project requirements, design, and Apple's commitment to privacy and security. We are looking for a deeply capable engineer who has a strong background in cloud-based infrastructures and who has built high-performance, scalable, and extensible systems. Preferred Qualifications:

Expert in infrastructure automation and release engineering

Demonstrated track record designing, building, and deploying highly scalable cloud-based architectures

Able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change as new opportunities to innovate arise

Experience with Cassandra, Redis/Valkey, Kafka, and other CNCF technologies

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of developing cloud services in a professional environment, or equivalent experience

Proficiency authoring quality software with Java, Go, Python, or comparable programming languages

Experience working with Kubernetes and containerized software

Expert in best practices for security, observability, reliability, performance and incident response

Passion for making valuable use of cutting edge development tools, be it AI or otherwise

Strong sense of ownership and drives clarity and alignment for the entire team

Exercises direct and timely communication to surface opportunity and risk to teammates

Able to participate in on-call duties on a rotational basis

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
