The Vision Products Group (VPG) is looking for a camera algorithm engineer to help us push the limits of the next generation of spatial media. This team works on key technologies and frameworks that enables media experiences on Vision Pro and future AR/VR products. We're looking for a driven algorithm engineer to join us and help build the future of VPG's Spatial Capture products. Our work sits at the intersection of media processing, image and video quality, computer vision, and stereo perception. We build with GPUs, neural coprocessors, math, creativity, and a careful eye to image quality. The work is deeply interdisciplinary and collaborative, and it relies on unique perspectives from each member of the team. We need your passion, knowledge, and creativity to solve complex technical challenges. Implementing spatial capture features using a combination of GPU, CPU, and neural coprocessor components. Collaborating with other engineers to deliver a feature that is both qualitatively striking and performant.

Working on a shipping and complex media processing system with stringent runtime and power constraints.

Collaboratively iterating with Image and Video Quality experts, and building tooling to accelerate their workflows.

Design and develop media processing software frameworks and SDKs for Apple Vision Pro and new AR/VR products

Presenting results clearly and discussing algorithms both quantitatively and qualitative.

Preferred Qualifications:

Success shipping media products involving image and video processing, video capture/playback, or media processing pipeline is a plus

Familiarity with AR/VR technologies

Experience with iOS / macOS development

Experience with developing media SDKs, frameworks and customer facing APIs

Hands-on experience with core machine learning algorithms and tools

Experience with media formats (HEVC, H264, JPEG, etc)

Minimum Qualifications:

BS is computer science/EE or equivalent

5+ years of experience with software development

Experience with image and video processing

Excellent programming skills and proficient with one of the programming languages: C/C++, Objective-C, and Swift

Strong problem solving and analytical thinking skills

A strong focus on end user experience

Creative and collaborative approach to problem solving, and a drive to build products that surprise and delight.

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $139,500 and $258,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
