As a vital member of our Data Center Operations Teams you'll power the hyperscale infrastructure that connects over a billion customer devices worldwide. The Reverse Logistics team supports Apple's world-class data center operations by managing the secure and responsible disposition of assets and media. We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as an entry-level Decommission Operations Specialist. This role plays a key part in coordinating day-to-day activities involving asset resale, recycling, and media wiping workflows.

Description:

Working under general supervision, the Decommission Operations Specialist provides process oversight, assists with training, ensures compliance, and helps maintain accurate documentation to support Apple's high standards for security, sustainability, and operational excellence.","responsibilities":"Support daily reverse logistics functions including receiving, sorting, staging, packaging, and shipping of decommissioned hardware and media.

Oversee the execution of asset disposition workflows by contractors or junior staff; validate proper handling and process completion.

Monitor and maintain accurate asset disposition records using internal systems and tools.

Ensure procedures for media wiping, secure transport, and compliant storage are followed consistently.

Assist in conducting internal audits and cross-checks of media and asset data to ensure completeness and accuracy.

Collaborate with Logistics, Asset Management, Site Services, and other internal teams to support lifecycle and sustainability goals.

Train and onboard new team members and contractors on site-specific processes, data handling procedures, and safety protocols.

Lead the development and maintenance of site-level SOPs and Work Instructions for reverse logistics operations.

Support root cause analysis and help implement process improvements related to asset and media management.

Escalate compliance concerns, workflow interruptions, or handling issues to site leadership in a timely manner.

Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment with a focus on material security and handling accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

Effective verbal and written communication skills

Exposure to reverse logistics, IT asset disposition (ITAD), or data center operations

Experience with asset tracking tools, barcode scanners, or enterprise systems (e.g., SAP)

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Familiarity with media handling, asset tracking, or chain-of-custody concepts Willingness to guide and support peers and contractors within a professional setting

Eagerness to learn and grow within a secure logistics and sustainability-focused environment

Awareness of data security protocols and responsible recycling principles desirable

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, General Studies with relevant coursework; or equivalent job related experience.

Experience in warehousing, inventory control, supply chain, logistics or similar

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds waist high
