Apple is where individual imaginations gather together, committing to the values that lead to great work. Every new product we build, service we create, or Apple Store experience we deliver is the result of us making each other's ideas stronger. That happens because each of us shares a belief that we can create something wonderful and share it with the world, changing lives for the better. It's the diversity of our people and their thinking that inspires the innovation that runs through everything we do. When we bring everybody in, we can do the best work of our lives. Here, you'll do more than join something - you'll add something.
The Siri team is looking for a manager for the engineering program manager (EPM) team responsible for Siri Speech. You will lead a team of Program Managers to drive modeling, data & infrastructure for Siri Speech technologies, crafting future products that will delight, inspire, and empower millions of people to leverage the power of AI.

Description:

In this role, you will manage a team of Engineering Program Managers who drive large, cross-functional machine learning modeling, data & infrastructure programs. This requires partnering with engineering management to facilitate all aspects of projects: define, schedule, prioritize, track, proactively manage and communicate status of projects.

Your team will lead efforts that bring together multiple machine learning modeling technologies as well as other cross-functional partners in areas such as software engineering, infrastructure, data collection, design and other organizations within and outside of Apple.

You should bring solid experience in system software and project management, strong communication and leadership skills, and a track record of driving and delivering multiple complex projects simultaneously. Strong written and verbal communication is key as you drive projects forward, prioritize work, facilitate the removal of obstacles and escalate risks.

You should demonstrate high integrity, high energy and feel comfortable in a dynamic environment. You will need to build strong collaborative relationships and calmly manage any associated conflicts along the way. You will be responsible for successful outcomes and delivery, driving your projects with a keen eye for important details and communicating clearly on status and risks. If you relish challenge, are passionate about building and delivering phenomenal AI products, and are excited by working with a great team in an exciting new technology space, then we want to hear from you - please apply!

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in hands-on software development or machine learning

Excellent collaboration skills, working together with different teams, and fostering trust

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

Curiosity and passion for new technologies, and proven ability to quickly understand technical concepts

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Management: At least 1 year managing a team of program managers

Program Experience: At least 5 years of experience in project or program management, leading cross-functional software engineering teams in large organizations to deliver consumer or enterprise technology products. Candidates should be comfortable structuring new programs and leading multiple work streams independently

Technical Proficiency: Solid understanding of system architecture, design trade-offs with thorough understanding of testing, build and release processes for complex software or machine learning models

Strong Leadership: Proven ability to lead, influence, and resolve conflicts within large, complex teams. Must demonstrate analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a product mentality

Effective Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation, negotiation, and the ability to communicate abstract ideas clearly
