The team is responsible for training on-device & cloud models, evaluating various approaches, pushing the envelope with the latest generative AI research developments, and ultimately delivering product critical models that power Siri and Apple Intelligence experiences. Description:

As a senior machine learning engineer on the team, you will play a key role in our development. You will have responsibilities ranging from model design, implementation, training, model iteration, researching and experimenting with new ideas and evaluation. You will apply state-of-the-art generative AI and machine learning methods to continually advance Siri's capabilities. Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience with building AI agents, LLMs for tool use, and Multimodal-LLMs.

Experience using one or more of the following: Reinforcement learning, Distillation, RLHF fine-tuning, RAG/VectorDB, LLM uncertainty quantification.

Experience creating and maintaining large scale, robust machine learning systems and infrastructure for data, modeling and metrics for use in multi-person team setting.

Experience developing, shipping and improving machine learning models in a production environment or a solid publication record in top-tier conferences like NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, ICRA etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on industry experience developing deep learning systems: training (and finetuning) models, designing model architectures, researching/experimenting with new ideas, defining and creating metrics, building datasets and performing error triages.

Deep understanding of Generative AI techniques/literature and proven track record of training (or deploying) LLMs/MLLMs to solve complex problems

Proficiency in Python and one of the deep learning frameworks (such as Py Torch, JAX, or Tensorflow)

Excellent communication: strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills

Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Engineering or equivalent professional experience

Pay & Benefits:

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $212,000 and $318,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
