Job Description

At Amgen, we are seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst with deep experience in Revenue Management systems and associated data ecosystems. This individual will lead across multiple product teams, developing a comprehensive understanding of Revenue Management applications and ensuring cohesive, end-to-end delivery of data, processes, and technology solutions. While this role is not hands-on coding, it requires strong technical acumen and ownership of detailed business process flows, data transformations, and the implementation of complex technologies within a fast-paced, global environment. As part of the technology organization, this leader will partner closely with engineering teams, contract and pricing stakeholders, and global vendors to translate business requirements into scalable, cloud-native data and analytics solutions. Amgen leverages a modern technology stack including AWS, Databricks, GitLab, and Informatica to enable these capabilities.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Act as a strategic liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and data/analytics teams.

Have strong understanding and lead the analysis and design of Revenue Management business processes, data set and data transformation

Lead the design of reports and dashboards in support of the contract and pricing business stakeholders

Translate business strategy and objectives into data and analytics roadmaps

Lead the elicitation, documentation, and prioritization of complex business and data requirements.

Define clear functional and non-functional requirements for analytics, reporting, and data solutions.

Translate complex contract and pricing business needs into clear epics, user stories, technical specifications

Design data models, KPIs, metrics definitions, and analytical use cases

Responsible for end-to-end technical execution and delivery across three product teams, ensuring design alignment.

Partner with data engineering teams to ensure accurate data sourcing, transformation, and integration

Define success metrics and ensure analytics solutions drive measurable business value

Guide dashboard, reporting, and self-service analytics design to meet stakeholder needs

Facilitate workshops and working sessions with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams

Align diverse stakeholders on priorities, scope, and expected outcomes

Ensure adherence to data governance standards, data definitions, and quality controls

Advocate for data integrity, consistency, and standardized KPIs across the organization.

Support user adoption through clear documentation, training materials, and business readiness activities

Drive continuous feedback loops to enhance analytics capabilities

Proactively identify risks related to data availability, quality, and scope

Escalate and resolve issues impacting delivery timelines or business outcomes

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and support future team growth

Promote best practices in business analysis, data storytelling, and analytics delivery

Support and lead Agile practice while promoting SAFe, DevOps, and modern delivery practices

Promote & Partner with Advanced Analytics teams to scale product teams capabilities

Build a strong Data & Analytics presence in the region

Strong business client management and partnership, presentation

Basic Qualifications:

Any degree and 12 - 17 years of Information Systems or Technology experience in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, or pharmaceutical organizations.

In addition to meeting above requirements, you must have a minimum of 3 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above.

Preferred Qualifications:

You are a technical leader at heart — someone who understands data deeply, connects the dots across systems and business needs, and thrives in complex global environments

Strong technical knowledge in Databricks, cloud-based ETL tools, AWS or similar platforms, Big Data, Data Lake architecture, and data integration technology

Proven senior experience on Commercial/Sales data, multichannel ecosystems, and analytics workflows

Excellent communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders

6+ years of working in software product management/development in a technical leadership capacity with experience in working with SAFe Agile Product and Platform teams

Ability to strategically negotiate and solve for business goals with technology solutions aligned to corporate technology and architecture standards, and negotiate investments and prioritization to deliver iteratively

Demonstrated high learning agility with a solid sense of ownership, urgency and drive

SAFe Certification(s) and Lean-Agile Leadership experience

Test automation and DevOps experience; exposure to complete product development lifecycle in Agile / Scrum and DevOps environments

Excellent communication skills to work across and up through the organization, including executive communication, escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts, and presentation skills to adjust content and influence outcomes based on the audience

Experience with leveraging industry thought leadership, networks, and expertise to develop product technology roadmaps

Resilience in working in a dynamic environment at the speed of business, adept at operating with ambiguity and in experimenting in quick-learning cycles

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in leading technical teams and building products/applications on Model N, Mulesoft and AWS Cloud platforms using modern development and testing tools

Test automation and DevOps experience; exposure to complete product development lifecycle in Agile / Scrum and DevOps environments

Experience with sourcing and managing vendors for software product build and DevOps service
