Director, Global Distribution – Amgen India Capability Center
The Director, Global Distribution (Amgen India Capability Center) will report into the Executive Director, Global Distribution. This role is a critical leadership position within Amgen’s Global Supply Chain organization, designed as an end-to-end Global Distribution Lead role. The Director will be responsible for supporting and executing global distribution strategies for commercial and clinical operations across all pillars within Global Distribution such as Hubs operations, Compliance & Trade, Enablement and Warehouse & Transportation Strategies.
This leader will help scale the India Capability Center to deliver operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic enablement in partnership with regional and global stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities:

Lead, develop, and oversee teams within the India Capability Center that provide support across all Global Distribution functions.

Partner with global and regional leaders to ensure compliance with GDP/GMP, trade, and import/export regulations, embedding a culture of risk management and quality.

Manage and optimize the local hub operations teams, ensuring supply, continuity, reliability, and service-level excellence in collaboration with global supply hubs and distribution centers.

Drive enablement initiatives, including serialization compliance and supply chain security programs, ensuring systems, processes, and partnerships are aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.

Deliver global metrics reporting relating to operational performance, leveraging Amgen reporting tools such as SAP TM, while identifying process improvements and opportunities through application of leading-edge technologies

Support the global site warehousing strategy, including site capacity planning, policy execution, and efficiency initiatives, ensuring harmonization across Amgen’s network.

Develop and execute continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging operational excellence frameworks and digital solutions to optimize processes, cost, and performance.

Manage budgets, resources, and priorities for the India Capability Center team in alignment with Global Distribution goals, identifying and supporting productivity projects that enhance operational efficiency and drive continuous improvement.

Design, develop, and manage systems and applications that support Amgen Global Distribution and warehousing operations.

Represent Global Distribution in cross-functional projects and governance forums; provide subject matter expertise in distribution, compliance, and warehouse operations.

Build and mentor a high-performing team; ensure talent development, engagement, and alignment to Amgen values.
Basic Qualifications:
-
Doctorate degree and 12 years of operations/supply chain experience OR
-
Master’s degree and 15 years of operations/supply chain experience OR
-
Bachelor’s degree and 20 years of operations/supply chain experience
AND
- Minimum 4 years of managerial experience directly leading people and/or leading teams, projects, or programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
10+ years of biopharmaceutical supply chain, logistics, or distribution experience in a GMP/GDP-regulated industry.

Strong knowledge of import/export trade compliance, serialization, supply chain security, and warehousing strategies.

Proven ability to lead in a global, matrixed environment with cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience managing hub operations, transportation/distribution networks, or large-scale warehousing programs.

Demonstrated success in process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity initiatives.

Strong financial and business acumen, with experience managing budgets and building business cases.
-
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with executive presence and the ability to influence across levels and functions.
