ABOUT THE ROLE

Role Description:

The role is responsible for developing and implementing the organization’s information security strategy to protect data, systems, and networks from potential threats and designing and implementing the organization’s security architecture, ensuring that all systems, applications, and networks are protected against threats. This role involves working closely with IT and development teams to integrate security into every aspect of the technology stack. This role involves overseeing the security team, managing risk, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of cybersecurity practices, and experience in managing large-scale security programs.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with the organization’s business goals
  • Develop and maintain the organization’s network security architecture, ensuring that it meets current and future security requirements
  • Assess and select security technologies and tools that align with the organization’s security strategy
  • Lead the information security team, providing guidance, support, and mentoring to ensure the effectiveness of security operations
  • Review and approve configurations for systems, networks, and applications to ensure that they meet security standards
  • Deploy, configure, and maintain security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, and endpoint protection systems

Senior Network Security Engineer

  • Top level technical escalation for network security issues or requests
  • Provide guidance to early and mid-career network security engineers
  • Build and deliver knowledge sharing presentations and documentation to educate developers and operations teams on how network security affects the enterprise
  • Help with tools identification, onboarding and/or tools to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and availability of Amgen’s network
  • Triage issues found by tools, external reports, and various tests, to accurately assess the real risks
  • Engage with Amgen staff & partners to provide secure, relevant, and explicit access to systems in Amgen’s network
  • Draft application security policies, standards and guidance documentation that can be demonstrated in the secure development of products and services

Basic Qualifications and Experience:

  • Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering, IT or related field
  • 13+cyears of experience in Scrum teams management or related feild

Functional Skills:

Must-Have Skills:

  • Expert knowledge and history of managing an enterprise deployment of ZTNA technologies like Netskope
  • Expert knowledge and history of managing an enterprise deployment of Fortinet platform technologies
  • In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, technologies, and best practices
  • Strong knowledge of security architecture frameworks and principles

Good-to-Have Skills:

  • Experience with network security, endpoint protection, and incident response
  • Experience in creating regulated documents, standard operating procedures, and work instructions

Professional Certifications:

  • NSE 4 (required)
  • NSE 5 Forti Manager (required)
  • CISSP (required)
  • Netskope Security Cloud Operation and Administration (preferred)
  • NSE 5 Forti Analyzer (preferred)
  • NSE 7 Advanced Firewall (preferred)

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully
  • Team oriented, with a focus on achieving team goals
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Development of strategic plans aligning with enterprise goals
